265WT traffic question...

I just purchased a used 265W and was lucky enough to have the previous owner remove his registration. When I registered it with garmin, it was recognized as a 265WT. I searched the settings and such but found no indication of being able to receive FM traffic updates. The power cord I got does NOT have the receiver in it. (price was worth not getting it) Does the receiver need to be present for the unit to show anything related to traffic in the settings? I have heard all 265W in the US are WT but doesn't show on id tag on back of Nuvi.
Thanks!

You have to plug the traffic

You have to plug the traffic receiver in then touch tools, settings and traffic to get to the setting. The receiver is a Garmin GTM 25 .

That's what I thought...

It's just like the custom POI's. If they are not installed, there is no button for them or proximity alerts. I didn't ask why there was no fm cable, but I had seen that they are very expensive on there own. More than I paid for the Nuvi itself. I'll stick to listening to the radio! Thanks for confirming that.
