Has anyone noted charging problems with the MSN Direct Receiver GDB 55 battery? After about 6 hours on DC power the battery on my cable only charged to half scale. Then intermittantly it indicates 1/4 charge or no charge. This may have started after the software update that was to provide faster acquisition of traffic information. I am not sure.

I am very disappointed in the low volume level from the on board speaker of the Nuvi 780.

I tried TTS Voice Editor and the volume is still not at the level of my N200. The navigation voice is louder but all the other sounds are still too low.

I was wondering, how do you know that the red light information has been transferred onto the GPS? I downloaded the software from Garmin. The GPS indicated it. But, the red light info, I don't see it.

Has anyone considered a POI for Italian Restaurants?

Is there a way to permanently set the initial viewing height on the 775T to around 300 ft? .2 miles is a bit much for my use as I would like a bit more detail on start-up.

i can am very new to this can somebody tell me how to save a file when i download it and where to save it and so i can find it useing poi loader .and how to save in c;drive

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a problem with thier Garmin Nuvi 255w just reseting to factory? I can't say for sure it was a factory reset, but all my userdata(waypoints, and system settings) were deleted or reset.

Only thing that survived was the RedLight Camera custom POI which was loaded on the SD card.

Is there a way to create multiple "Custom POI" groups on my GPS? I am able to grab a POI file and load it to the GPS but I can't figure out how to select different POI groups. Whenever I include secondary subsets of POIs, the POIs merge into a single POI file. Can someone point me in the right direction on this please?

I was trying to navigate to Super Cuts near my home from work the other day. This location has been in existence for at least 5 years.

I did a search on my Nuvi 780 but could not find this location.

So here is my question. How does businesses find their way into the Garmin Maps POI's ?

I searched for a few other business in the same business center and found them, but no Super Cuts.

I have a Zumo550 with garmin NACN2010 and Mexico maps.

I down loaded a POI for Mexico, I can't get it to show up on my GPS. The file looks like this>

Waypoints 2009-04-26.gpx

can Somone help me with this problem?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible for my 780 to read POI's from the SD Card? Thanks to this forum I was able to figure out how to load them to the card but I do not know how to use them.

Looking for postions of the cameras throughout NYC

I noticed this on their website today. They have put it on sale before for less, but this is a pretty good deal.

Amazon also has this for about the same price, but if you want to purchase this locally this is the cheapest I have seen it for a while.

By sliding the power button all the way to the right, locks the screen but is it suppose to also put your screen to sleep after a few minutes? It wakes up by touching it again. Is that normal?

I thought that this was an interesting conclusion: "Separate is better"

A recent trip from St. Joseph MI to Goose Creek SC (just outside of Charleston) my Nuvi 750 worked flawlessly. That was until I got to Goose Creek. The closer I got to the Navy base the worse it got. Destinations on the wrong side of the street, up to ½ mile off, turns where there wasn't a street, and so on.

Is it possible to add missing roads to the maps?

I do a bit of hiking, and Garmin already has a lot of the forest roads, but not all of them. A couple times the roads I've needed are missing.

Can you add them in with the PC software and have them show-up on your Nuvi?

Would I be better off just getting the topo maps on a SD chip from Gramin. (Has anyone tried them on a Nuvi?)
