I have a POI folder on my desk top with some poi's in all ready and wanna put them on my nuvi how and will the nuvi reconize that folder from my desk top to install them from there.I also have the poi loader all downloaded and installed.i have the garmin nuvi 755T.

I just bought a Nuvi 1450 GPS with 5" LCD. Can anyone recommend a cheap case? It does not have to carry Garmin logo.

Where's my stuff? I d/l the tim hortons csv for my 755t, add it, and all that show up are the ones in my City. Open the csv file with Excel and there are tons of them in there. Gotta be the dummy behind the keyboard?

So the ball socket on the back of my c530 wasn't holding real well, so I wrote to Garmin inquiring into a replacement part. They responded that it would cost $99 to repair. When I pushed back, another service rep offered to fix it under warranty (unit is two years old). So I wrapped it up and sent it off. I got a replacement pretty quickly and it was in perfect shape.

I programmed a route from my office to my home.

I noticed tonight two things while I was driving home

1) The speed (on the right bottom) of my Garmin 1450 was sitting at 20 MPH and I was driving 45 MPH and then when I stopped, it was showing 48 MPH.

After the last NuMaps update, my 780 started freezing every afternoon as I am about to turn onto the freeway (for the AZ locals, US10 and 40th Street)

My MSN subscription expired at about the same time, I am not sure whether this could be a cause or not, and until I figure this out, don't want to subscribe just yet.

I heard that Garmin will provide a mapsource CD if you request it from them. _americian users...as it is not included in the package with the unit

I purchased a 255w while in the US but are now back in Australia -- does anyone know if this would qualify for the CD or any other suggestions?

i'm new at this so bare with me. i made a folder to put the files in but can you name the folder anything you want. downloaded the walmart poi and the mp3. i typed walmart.csv and walmart.mp3 and put the files in the folder. i used poi loader to load on the garmin gps and nothing happened. if i did install it right will a proximity alert points show up in settings.

I came back from a trip yesterday. When I went to start my car this morning, I got the blinking lights and stuttering sound that signal that the 12V battery is drained far enough that the starter solenoid will not engage.

My newish Nuvi 855 had been plugged in all the time.

Facts:
Car is a 2002 Audi A4.
OEM battery was replaced about 1.5 years ago.

After many years of use, the battery in my StreetPilot c330 stopped taking a charge. After some research and disassembly, I found a battery that had the same voltage, albeit a slightly different amperage range, that would fit in my unit. I bought is for about $8 and set out to replace the battery.

Last week I purchased the update. When downloading the new US map I got a message that because of more detailed maps, certain sections of the country had to be loaded into the GPS as needed. I downloaded my area but want to load the rest of the areas to sd's, to use as I arrive in new territory. I can't seem to find my way back to that original new purchased map. Any help?

I'm having an issue with my 465T.
It is telling me that ALL routes are questionable routes. EVEN INTERSTATES!

Can some please tell me what may be going on?

I plotted a route in Mapsource and sent it sucessfully to my Nuvi but can't find it. How to I access it?

I have three .gpx POI files, along with seven .csv POI files. I have no problem adding all the .csv files, but when I add a second .gpx file it replaces the one currently in the GPS. All three have different filenames, of course. I've tried it many times and the last one loaded is the only one there, always replacing the previous one.

I have made a little program to extract all the 858 symbols from the nuvi 765 (probably applies as well to the entire 7x5 family). They are so niiiiice! It includes the following symbols: all POIs, weather, traffic, navigation, menu, etc...

I cannot post them for copyright reasons, but I can make the program available if there is some interest.

I recently installed the garmin web updater & downloaded the most recent updates. Since then the unit takes a LOT longer when you turn it on and I have no sound at all. I tried the toll free number but the wait time was so long and an e-mail says I'll get a reply within three days, so I thought maybe someone else has had this problem. By the way I have already tried a factory reset & no luck.

The nuvi 855 and maybe all 8x5 series has new firmware, version 4.70 dated December 28, 2009.

Changes made from version 4.60 to 4.70:
•General stability fixes.
•Resolved issue where scrolling through map in dense area may cause street labels to not be displayed.
•Resolved issue with unit converter precision and rounding.

I've noticed my Garmins can give some rather spurious results for proper directions for leaving/entering a parking lot and navigating to a location. Last night was interesting, we were headed to a restaurant adjacent to a shopping center. It was on the left across a divided highway.
