how do i use both the preloaded north america nt city navigation map and topo map at same time such as over lapping so i don't have to go to settings each time and change them back and forth each time. please help me out. thanks.

Taking a trip there in a few months and wanted to add the maps and POIs of the area. Also, is there a good mapset for just italy or should I just get the whole Europe NT which included italy.

Are all GPS units the same?
As in, when I come close to a POI that I have an alert set for. Say at 1000FT the alert isn’t going off until I am on the road the POI is on and heading toward it.

I have one POI I drove up on a side road behind it and the alert didn’t go off even though I was like 50 FT from the POI

I have the Garmin 855

Can you convert a Track Log into a route to use in the future. Such as taking a trip and convert it into a route and save it in Favorite or other places so that it can be use again.

When using POI Loader and Browsing for the file on my Mac, when I try to select the file, it is greyed out. Any ideas?

My name is Rick from Chesterfield Cou8nty, Virginia. I purchased the Garmin nuvi 1450 because my brother in law has the Garmin 1350 which we used last sunday to go to fedex field in Maryland. I was real impressed because it carried us to our actual parking area from Virginia.

Good morning all a new nuvi owner i have a 755T and like it for i just tried it last nite,my ? IS I JUST DOWNLOADED 2 POI'S 1 FOR ALL THE WALMARTS and the other was for speed traps in vt,nh,ma how do i put those on my nuvi and how do they work once they r in there.Exspecially the speed trap one how does that work any help would be appreciated.

I have had GPS since early 2001 and have never seen so many new features on these units. I reluctantly purchased a Garmin 1690 due to it's ability to lay down a live traffic map. However, on major roads sometimes the unit does not start the traffic feature for 30 or 40 minutes.

I have a .vpm file of the Governator and Cartman. When I load them onto my Garmin, they display as American English. With these files loaded, three American Engish files are displayed and no matter which one of the three that I pick, the Governator voice is used. If I remove the Governator, then I get the Cartman voice.

With the Garmin Nüvifone G60 GPS Phone now available from Amazon for $249.99 without a service requirement, will that cause anybody here to reconsider the Garmin Nüvifone G60? I have often felt that the Garmin Nüvifone G60 GPS phone is over-priced, but then I have felt that way with many Garmin products during the first several months that they are available.

This has probably already been discussed, but I couldn't find it with several searches.

Is TTS Speech Doctor compatible with 64-bit Windows 7? When I try to run it I get an error that TABCTL32.OCX isn't registered. I assume it is a 32-bit file.

are they a way to get a body of water (small lake or pond)to show up on your map?

I recently got a 255w for xmas. Been looking at various websites for POIs to download. I am confused. How do you install a POI for starters. I bought a 2gig SD chip. Do you download the POI files onto the SD chip. And then there are these combined POI files. Below the Files there are more files for audio and icons. How do you install these?? Need help. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have a 765t and trying to download poi alert sounds from the sounds section. they don't have a download button on them and when i right click it doesn't give me a save file option like it normally does. can somebody help please? thanks

I wanted to load some of those rest area csv files. d/l the bmp and also the mp3 file. Looked through the tutorial on "How do I load custom alert sounds for POIs on my Garmin GPSr?" Did everything it said. Used the poi loader to do the rest. Problem i seem to have is with the mp3 and bmp file. No where on my unit do i see the mp3 nor the bmp file.

So I'm thinking...
Maybe I should not be leaving the 755T in the car. I stash it in a small pocket out of sight in the center armrest. It gets pretty cold. Whenever I do use it, I plug it in so I can get traffic, so I'm not worried about finding a dead GPS battery, but I think it'd probably be better to take it out of the car.

The Subaru Dealerships U.S. and Canada POI file contains an error that kept it from loading. I found an entry with blank coordinates. When that line was deleted, the file loaded properly.

Is there a way to adjust the simulation speed of the Nuvi 255W besides having it in real time. Can you do 10X or 100x or something to speed it up. This would be especially good for long trips.
