Garmin Nuvi 660=1 2011 Ford Escape=0

Jameson Inn
4402 East Creek Drive
Indianapolis, Indiana

My 5 year old Garmin 660 can find it....

4 week old 2011 Ford Escape Can't find it...

So.... You know what I did?

I called "Lynn" at the Ford Executive Office, Yes, I have her direct number smile! , and she is "Checking into this".

I have already downloaded the "SYNC" App from PC, to USB drive, to Ford Escape, and the results read back by PC to the Ford Sync Site, and they say I'm "Up to Date" on the firmware versions, which includes the GPS, per "Lynn"...

I called the hotel... They were built on that existing road 6-7 years ago....

A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

.

According to Ford's website (http://www.ford.com/technology/sync/features/FeatureCategory...) the SYNC system contains more than 14 million listings. Garmin's newest models contain 6 million listings (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134&pID=87930).

So if you use both systems enough I'm sure you will find many locations in the SYNC system which aren't contained in the Garmin.

Keep in mind that no gps system will contain every single POI in existence.

But.... Since both Ford Nav

But.... Since both Ford Nav system and Garmin gets their maps from same vendor... Navteq.... You'd think that both would contain older data....

I haven't tried Rush, Arkansas in the Ford Escape yet smile! But we know why that's not there in the Garmin....

The Road: East Creek View Drive is on the map.... however, it's not labeled as that (or any) name at all... so the Nav System can't find it...

Seeing that same vendor is supplying both companys the maps.......

I think the OP wasn't referring to the POI for the hotel but the address, so his is a valid question considering the map came from the same source.

Garmin 38 - Magellan Gold - Garmin Yellow eTrex - Nuvi 260 - Nuvi 2460LMT - Google Nexus 7 - Toyota Entune NAV

.

According to google maps there is no 4402 East Creek Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana.

If you google "Jameson Inn Indianapolis" one of the results is 4402 Creek View Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana. So my guess is that the OP has the wrong address to begin with.

problem

The problem with the Garmin nuvi 660 is that the touchscreen is defective, and it will stop working eventually, and it's a known issue, which is what happened to us two weeks ago. When that happens, it will be droid x 1, nuvi 660 0, and Ford Escape 0.

problem

I think it depends on how you take care of them My Nuvi660 is 4 yr old and stil going strong. No problems. smile

johnm405 660 & MSS&T

I believe ours is 5 years

I believe our Nuvi 660 is 5 years or older... Battery, and screen still fine!

The road in question is seen on the Ford, it just isn't named.. I guess no name, no find.....
Nuvi sees, and names it.

Ford looked into it

I got a call from Ford... They tried the address and couldn't find it either...

I pointed out that they both get maps from same vendor...
They are "Looking Into It"

I hate to be the guy who points these things out, but I must admit they seem to be listening........
