Garmin talk

I once read that you can convert a new NT map to the old version of NON NT maps. I have a non NT Garmin Streetpilot that has mothered at 2009 maps. Does anyone know how to convert the NT to NON NT maps so that I can upgrade my Streetpilot.

My nuvi 680 is totally frozen. Rebooting doesn't help. I tried a soft reset no good, tried a hard reset when the page do you want to erase info I press continue nothing happened. All buttons are locked up.. I will turn on but I have no control after that.
Help Any Ideas?

Every time I run Garmin's POI Loader program I have to answer so many questions and re enter proximity distances.

Is there a way for the program to remember exactly what I did last time?

I really like the route function of googe maps, where you can drag the route to wherever you like and customizes it.But I can not transfer the planned route to my Garmin. Are there work-around on transferring planned trip to my garmin or substitute softwares?

P.s I heard that with mapquest, you can trasfer planned route. Any other options other than mapquest? It seems unintuitive for me.

I just purchased the Garmin 3790LMT and feel like I am in Android land. All I want right now is something to beep when I go over the speed limit. I see the speed I am traveling and the speed limit, when I exceed the speed limit will it beep or something or do I have to download something.

My wife and I will be traveling to Europe next month. Even though we will be travelling from country country by public transportation, we will be bringing our Garmin nüvi 1350LMT GPS so that we can navigate our way around by foot in London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Madrid, and Milan.

I know this has been discussed before...but is there still a mapsegment limit and file size limitation when downloading a map file from Topo US 2008? Last I heard it was 2025 map segments and files have to be smaller than two gigs. Is this still the case? I am trying to upload all of US Topo 2008 to my Nuvi1450 and after several hours am wondering if I am wasting my time.

I have a Garmin nuvi 1350lmt, does installing a traffic antenna extension to the traffic receiver on the power cord increase traffic signal when mounted to the windshield? Is it worth the money?

This is an example of what I want to achieve.
I would like to have two categories in the Custom POI
1. Starbucks
2. view points, waterfalls etc., along the route.

I know how to create the categories.
But I want to be able to turn proximity alerts on or off independently for these two categories.

I just thought that I would report out that when I received my nuvi 3760lmt that the upcoming street names are back when not navigating to a point and that the favorite icons show up on the map. These are what I missed the most when I let my 760 go.

As far as the internal memory it has 4GB with half of it used, before stripping out any unused voices, keyboard and help files.

Or do you have to download or create them yourself?

Do they install with new map updates?

My maps are older but I mainly would like to be able to find POI in an area.

There was a couple of restaurants and a theaters in a rural area that my Garmin did not have any info for.
These are popular restaurants that have been established for at least 40 years.

Well, based on favorable feedback we got here, we bought the Nuvi 3700 with lifetime maps. Is this unit slick or what? It's thinner than my iPhone and the screen resolution is far and away the best I have ever seen on a GPS unit.

The car charger it comes with outputs 5V/2A. It comes with no other charger.

I downloaded some new POI files, and when I tried to install them POI Loader told me there wasn't enough room on the 1690 to install them. So, I went back to the beginning and told it to delete the existing POI's, then I told POI Loader to install everything to the SD card.

I have a new Samsung phone SCH-u370 and not all the time does it completely connect to the Nuvi 1490. It only connects partially-buy this I mean the phone book on the phone doesn't always connect. This happens about 50% of the time! Any ideas???

Attempting to clean some excess from my Zumo660, I inadvertently deleted ALL my .gtt files. Where can I download those that I want on my GPSr? Or, are the ones on my Nuvi350 the same and I can just copy them?

I know that MSN Direct will stop on 1/1/2012 but I just received a notice on my 885 that there is a update for it. Anybody else get this notice ?

Can anybody help me, copy all their files on their GPS, upload it somewhere like dropbox, so I could download it? Please, I'm in great need of strangers' kindness!!! (It does not have to include the map .img file)
