Garmin Nuvi 3597 VERY SLOW to re-cal route?

I've tried 3 Garmin Nuvi 3597's since they first went on sale and they all seem to take forever to re-calculate a route; 10-20 seconds for a local route and over 1 minute for a multi state route. This is especially bad when you traveling on vacation and you are waiting over 1 minute on the shoulder.
I have RESET the unit a couple of times, I have deleted the logs, I have exchanged 2 units at the store and they all behave the same way. I've tried to call Garmin but I didn't have 30-40 minutes to wait on hold. Any ideas on how to fix my re-calc times?
Do other 3597 owners have the same re-cal times?
I also own the NUVI 3490 & 3590 and they re-calculate fast.

I've had my 3597 for a couple weeks now and that doesn't sound right. My 3597 takes maybe 5 - 10 seconds to recalculate a local route. I can't comment yet on the multi-state route as I haven't taken a trip yet with it.

I have the same problems with my 2350LMT, the multi-state recalculations are very slow, the first time I has this problem, Garmin replaced my 2350LMT and then the second 2350LMT did the same slow multi-state recalculations, so I have to live with this problem.
I agree
I agree that it doesn't sound right - my 3597 recalculates very quickly - seems to be even faster than the 3790.
However, I have yet to travel out of province. Interesting problem - I'll try a simulation.
Thanks for all the replies.
Thanks for all the replies. I myself thought it wasn't normal but I have tried 3 different 3597's and they were all the same.

Been there and done that with the hard reset. Still have the same issue.
