Icons in Text bar

Can anyone tell me what the icons are that pop up in the text bar when you approach a speed or red light camera. Why do they remain there even after passing the camera. Can you get rid of them. I have a nuve 3597

Cyclops

Your GPS most likely came with the free trial Garmin Safety Camera database (Cyclops) pre-installed like my nuvi 2460 that had it installed straight from the factory.

I suggest looking in your nuvi's POI folder for a file named something like USCanadaCyclopsSample.gpi. If there, you could delete the file or rename it to something like USCanadaCyclopsSample.gpi.disabled to inactivate it.

Before deleting or renaming nuvi files, please make a full backup of your device to a computer hard drive or recordable DVD to be safe.
