Hi - I'm new to the GPS world. I have a Nuvi 350 and began downloading Custom POI's to the Nuvi internal storage with success. When I downloaded POI's to the SD card I am getting this message from POI Loader:
"Problem copying data to the data card"
"The parameter is incorrect"
Is anyone familiar with this message?

I am new to this site. Last year I bought the Garmin Streetpilot 2720. It's been great because I am terrible with directions and can't read a map to save me (& I have one in the car).

Now I really am stuck. I loaded the 2.4 POI beta and tried uploading to my 376c. POI won't recognize my GPS. I get an error message. Devices found but none have the necessary capabilities. Make sure device is turned on (it is) and set to Garmin or Host (set to Host). HELP Please!!!!

Just looked on Garmin site, guess my 376c is not compatible with POI, what do I do now?

Ok all, I feel like Forrest Gump asking this but here goes. I have been reading about uploading to the GPS, (haven't done it yet) and it is my understanding that previous POI's are over written, does that include the standard POI's that are in mapsource, if so how do I keep the mapsource originals?

So I talked the wife into going out to eat at the Light House Seafood resterant. This place is way out in lower Alabama back woods and I had no idea how to get there. Looked under seafood on my Nuvi 350 and there it was, surprised me. So I introduced the wife to the Nuvi, cute she said but I not sure of this is a good idea, and how much did that cost.

I just bought the Garmin C340. Downloaded all of the updated data from the Garmin website to my C340. (Yes, all of it....even all the different voice language updates. Maybe this was a boo boo) Then I went and started using the POI loader and started uploading POI's.

I got through about five of them, using some I found at another website...

I just purchased a garmin c330. I also d/l the listing of red light camera's and a few other poi for the garmin.

Everytime I log in POI Factory I come away with good stuff. Thanks for the information on using googel earth.

I'm new at using a gps,but trying to learn.I would like to create my own poi file on places we travel. I looked up a point in New Mexico using two different sources,"google earth" and "infosports" and found that I come up with two different readings. Example: Rainbow Lake Lodge using infosport -105.66950,33.31084 and using Google Earth -105.40102,33.18390. Maybe I'm going at this all wrong?

There is a website: www.mountguys.com that supplies GPS mounts for several popular units - Garmin - Magellan - etc. They also have mounts for motorcycles, boats, etc.
Check it out.
I have purchased a Garmin mount from them. It arrived in 6 days and works great.

is it possible to obtain the unlock code...I think I threw mine away.. any help will be much appreciated. thanks

Using Garmin's POI loader I'm able to load great POI off of this site, however, when I load my second POI it erases the first. How do I get more that one POI on the 350? Thanks, Jim, k4vw

Just wanted to say thanks to all who put the POI's together. Just picked up my Garmin 660 two days ago and didn't realize that I could customize the POIs. Thanks to you I have tons of POIs to keep my eyes on.

Can't wait to hit the road tomorrow to test out all the files I uploaded today.

WOW! I was sent this today from a friend of mine in Canada who's working on part of the development. Not sure if you guys have seen this before but this is some really hot stuff.

I am new at gps and poi's. I have downloaded a few files to my cp and would like to see whats in the files before loading into my Garmin c550. I have downloaded a program called POIEDIT which works on some of the files,but others will not open due to error's. example(Casino USA). Thanks for any help.

I have recently discovered that Ritz camera runs a photo contest that involves navigating to certain coordinates, solve a clue, then take a picture of the subject. I have been told that you can get the details at the ritz web site, however, after a search, I have not been able to find the details. Has anyone been involved in this?
