Hi All,

I use a Macintosh and i've been trying all day to figure out, just how to save a homemade vehicle icon in the .srf file format.

The .BMP files work just fine, in conjunction with their corresponding POI .csv files, but the .srf vehicle icon format files, are definitely from a different planet.

Does anyone have a solution to this conundrum?

Ok, I have possibly a simple question. I noticed many custom POI files are for stores/restaraunts that are generally included in the POI database for most units. For example, someone has one for "Applebees", but my Magellan, and I assume most other GPS units seems to have all of the local Applebees in the built in POI database.

My Nuvi 670 is on the FedEx truck, enroute to be delivered, as I write this question.

When you create your own vehicle icons and upload them to the unit, does the unit automatically orient them to the route you are traveling?

My vehicle icon shows my vehicle traveling from left to right (heading east).

She's always in here helping us and I don't know how to pronounce her name...

I've downloaded the most recent version of POI loader, but can't seem to get it to work. It installs OK, but I don't get the buttons on the bottom of the window. I did get it to work ONCE....I've un-installed and re-installed numerous times. I'm running Windows XP Home Edition. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Upgraded to a Nuvi660 and handed down my Nuvi350 to my sister, who works at Ia. State University and she's been playing with her 'new' toy...and discovered something I had not...when plotting a route, even with every avoidance in the unit unselected, the route it plots from her place of work on campus to her apartment goes around the East edge of campus rather than over central campus streets.

I am looking for POI Loader that works with the Standard Garmin Etrex Legend. Also will the current POI loader that Garmin offers work on the Legend (the Color version).

When I try to calculate a route from Richmond, VA to Boston, MA. It takes me through OH and into Canada. Can someone confirm otherwise? Put in "near" Richmond, VA and then to:

How does a person know if a poi file has an alert? And what is the difference between distance and speed alert? Thanks for your help.

Get out the GPS and POI's for Pizza Hut locations. They are offering free slices of pizza between 3 - 5 pm (check their site for locations if no POI is available).

I have an address that I converted to Lon/Lat. Now, I want to go 500 feet South and 3960 feet West, and make new points. How do you convert -93.84756 to feet?

Under favorites (already calculated routes), how do you delete a route without deleting all of them. I havent figured that out yet!

I always seem to have problems entering an address that is lets say 531 South Route 38.

It always seems it never locates it... Is there something I am missing?

Hi Everyone. This website is fantastic. I am enjoying my new Nuvi 680 !!!! Lots of fun. Im trying to create few " Speed" warning Poi's using excel.
The problem is everytime I try to enter the longitude with the minus sign ( West) it doesn't let me continue.( Like changes to SUM and adds other stufff to the end of the digits !!!!

..to the latest POI file? Is it possible to simply add the new info to the bottom of the file? I have already reported it. I am assuming that when I download the new file, the new site will be there and the POI Loader software will overwrite the file in my c330.

how accurate is the speed which shows on face of Garmin c340?

2nd question:

Why would I have to load Garmin c34o software again as my computer would not recognize gps when connected by the usb cable? I have had no problem since first loading software a couple of months ago.

RetiredTechnician, where would POI Factory be without you? Probably full of files that have duplicate locations, missing negative signs, and too many comas.
