does anyone have a poi file for all the koa (campground of america) that can be downloaded into a garmin streetpilot?

If you are traveling through Chicago on I 90/94 Dan Ryan be very careful of the construction speed posted 45. There are plain white vans with photo cameras and the move so there is no set location. You will know if it gets you because there is a bright flash as it takes both the front and rear of the vehicle. Its set for 1 mile over the limit, so be aware.

We were traveling across Texas to Austin and thought we'd check out Luckenbach to see what the song was all about. Before leaving Luckenbach we asked our nuvi350 for a route back to Austin. We set the GPS options to 'Bus' (to depict a motorhome), 'Fastest' route, and 'Avoid Unpaved roads'. It directed us north of '1376' onto 'Jenschke Kunz Road' to 'Barrett Road' onto '290'. The wife says "You sure you want to go this way"? She noted the Official Texas State Map didn't even show this road; but I reminded her "the map was free and the GPS cost good money; therefore, the GPS is right. Besides, we're in the car ... not the motorhome, so let's give it a try".

May I make a suggestion to the users here? I've seen this in some other places and it adds to the user-friendliness of the site.

The suggestion is that each user include their GPS brand/type/model that they are using in their signature block. It let's others in on what GPS units are being used out there and would give other users the chance to communicate with one another on experiences with the various makes and models out there.

This helps others contact you and give feedback on your file or contact you with updates and corrections.

I've been thinking about creating a Radio Shack POI file. Would anyone out there be interested in such a project? I'm an employee and I MAY be able to gain access to the store locater database (with permission of course) to aid in it's creation.

I just bought a Garmin nuvi350 to replace my 7 year old Magellan GPS315. I wish there was a site like this back then when I got the old Mag'.

I attempted to load several .bmp's for several of the current .csv files listed here. Uploads at this time will only accept .csv format. Creating .bmp's to go with those .csv's allows the unit to display a icon instead of just a dot or square.

If you're logged in, you can click on a user's name or picture to view their profile screen where you'll find a "track" tab that shows their recent posts.

The list includes forum posts and recently uploaded POI files.

i was looking at another site and an interesting point came up. on garmin gps after a route is set it gives u a time of arrival. this fellow says when he crossed into a new time zone it didnt change. someone else added what happens when u go through two or three time zones. ive not taken my c530 into another time zone. does anyone have any feedback.

I'm heading out for a 900+ mile road trip this weekend...this is the first time I'll be using my Nuvi anywhere except in Chicago...
I'm headed to Louisiana...

Looks like I just got promoted to active user, so I'm off to grab the redlights poi, too...that might come in handy on this trip.

I know custom POI's with phone numbers are unable to dial out except when saved as "Favorites" then the icon is enabled. I have been talking with Garmin Tech Support in their Software division about this issue. They are currently looking in resolving this issue and I will be notified (hopefully) by email when a solution comes available.

Do i need to have mapsource in order to embed a poi w/ an mp3? or could i do it manually. I am using GmapToGPX, is there a way that after i convert an address to gpx that i can insert a the mp3?

I just got a Garmin i5. Is there somewhere I can download construction zones and detours like you can with Streets and Trips for the computer?

Hi I am new to this group and i noticed the post about a person interested in motorcycle routes. Is it possible to actually record a route using a poi where the users would be directed to go with the POI?
