I was traveling through Mississippi this week and Karen (Aussie English voice) had to tell me to turn on a state route. She said "Turn right on manuscript 30."

My other favorite is right near the house when I have to turn left on Pearl St. N. Karen tells me to "turn left on Pearl saint north."

I appreciate you letting me know about the spam that was cluttering up our forum area. The user has now been blocked.

What is the Difference between Emergency and Pedestrian mode? If necessary, the emergency Vehicle can go against one way streets. The only difference I can see is that it will go toward the location even if there are no streets (in pedestrian mode)

I got my 4040 only on yesterday. Can somebody share tips to use this gps more efficiently?

Also has anybody had the problem with car mount that comes with Magellan 4040? If so, who to contact for it Dell or to Magellan?

Hi all,
I'm new to this hobby and have been using my windshield to mount the GPS. I live in California but have seen drivers, including my cousin (who is using it for 3 yrs) cluttered their windshield with radar detectors besides the GPS.

This week we are recognizing Mkahn, Sasines & Mcmargarine as our contributors of the week.

GPS annoying Newbie question #2

Unit - Garmin Nuvi 360

Issue - First trip out, left all settings at default.
Entered destination, got me there all right, but took me places through New Jersey to get to Upstate New York.

I have been around the destination AREA before so I assumed it would have taken me via major thoroughfares.
Ended up on a lot of service roads and boulevards.

I have a c330 and am wondering about waypoints. Garmin says that the c330 can have 500 waypoints. Does that mean that I can program a trip with 500 stops? If so, will the c330 organize and optimize the order to minimize time or miles?

I just purchased a Garmin C330. I have created a file for all Texas State Parks and other State Areas. I placed it in a folder under Custom POIs and in a subfolder called "Texas Parks". When I loaded it into the GPS and then schrolled thru the list under Custom POIs it will only show the closest 50 locations. The remainder appear to be in memory, but you have to spell them out to find them.

Does anyone have knowledge of a car vent mount for a Nuvi 350? Is it better then a friction mount or suction mount? Thanks

Can the Garmin StreetPilot C330 be configured to always display the current hundred block street address information while in "view map" mode? Thank you

Thanks to the person who combined the Offbeat Tourist Attractions files into one easy to use ALL STATES FILE. If I knew how to do it myself, I would have but instead I never bothered downloading each individual file. I just wish that the REST AREA FILES were combined in the same way so that I could use them for all states instead of jamming up my GPS custom Points list with 50 different files.

I bought the externam Mic for my 360. Callers complain that it echos when they talk to me. I am guessing its the speaker on the Nuvi feeding back to the mic.

Anyway to reduce the echo? Does the echo get reduced when you feed the sound to your car's stereo speakers. it seems like that would make it worse.

Does anyone know if I can put Google Earth satellite images on my Garmin nuvi? I would like to look at a moving map of actual city images to help find good shopping places.
