Preloaded POI and stuff vs. Custom POI

There are a lot of preloaded shopping and POI's that come on most of if not all the Garmin. I have the Nuvi 350 and I guess the simple question is why would I want to load things like customer POI's from say this site or any other vs. using the preload ones that come on the 350.
I see tons of duplication that is why I am asking....

Many reasons; just a few are:
>The ones on your GPS probably are obsolete by the time you bought it.
>If you find an error on the built-ins, no way to correct it.
>The built-ins may not be all you need.

Preloaded POI
I just got my Nuvi 350 three days ago. So hopefully what I am about to say is correct.
As far as duplicates are concerned when you use a custom POI that is very specific like a particular store. Unless the place is near it is faster to find it with the custom POI's than looking through all the stores on the Nuvi which are arranged by distance, or doing a search. And I don't have miscellious things with similiar spelling or classification in the middle of my search group.
In my city a quarter of the eating places listed on the Nuvi no longer exist. One closed about 3 years ago. In this classification someone has listed their home address in a strictly residential neighborhood. They sell mail order vitamins. How did that get in there?
But the best part are the things that are not duplicates and are not on the Nuvi preloaded. It can be worth a few duplicates to get those things.
