As we all create routes or put destinations in our GPSr for this Holiday weekends travel, lets not forget the Men and Women that served our country with such honor and made the ultimate sacrifice for all Americans.

I was wondering where I could find gps units that have no poi's on them. It doesn't matter what brand but I do want to be able to add all of the Poi's in certain areas myself.

An example would be adding all the Poi's for a tourist location and no other Poi's for the surrounding areas.

Any suggestions?

Hello Everyone Just wanted to let Everyone Know That the Poi Verifier will not work if you Upgrade your win Vista pc to the Microsoft Update Service Pack 1 I notifed RetiredTech and let him know also because i had Service pack 1 installed and when i went to use the verifier it did not work so i Uninstalled Service pack 1 and it is working fine again

I received the new NA map update 2009 disc today and began the install process by inserting the disc but when I do, it asks for the product key. Well, there is none. There is a s/n but no product key and I have looked high and low on the disc and the jewel case and the packaging and there is none and no papers in the envelope. Anyone know where to find the product key? Am I missing something?

I'm off for two vacation to the islands. I most likely will not have computer access during that time.

I'm looking for a waterproof hand held GPS for my son to Kayak with. Any recommendations with good prices? I'd like it to be able to track it's route and be able to upload the info to a computer. Additionally, if it could also provide GPS position to a laptop, that would be great also.

Hey, I am currently deployed to Iraq, and will be coming home in less than a month. I am trying to find the best GPS in the $300-400 range. I've kind of set my eyes on the Garmin Nuvi 760. Is there anyone that could offer some more suggestions? I will be going on a cross country trip to Dallas, TX and Savannah, GA. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Who or what is "Sanborn Tele Atlas"? A recent link sent to me took me to a Google Map of the location and the copyright on the map page is "Map Data @2008 Sanborn Tele Atlas". I thought Google used NavTeq?

just saying thanks to all who have put in poi,s ,i just took a trip from wv through va,nc,sc,ga,and fl, used many of the pois ,speed traps flying j,s rest stops gem mines .all were very helpful,so again i thank those who posted these items.....ron

I got my Garmin Nuvi 260 just last week, my first GPS. Luckily I found this site the same day. How cool.
I didn't know what could be added to it until I started reading some of the posts here. Now mine alerts me whenever I get near a White Castle. Does it get any better than that?

I'm sure most of you are aware of all the thefts that have taken place regarding GPS devices. I was in Disney World last week and 4 or 5 cars all around me in the parking lot (Yes the Disney World parking Lot) had windows smashed. Some of the cars had no mount visible but the thieves simply looked for the ring on the windshield.

Be aware and be safe. These thefts are happening everywhere.
