I switched to msn-direct last month. Has attractive menus of various info. I find things kinda slow though with the updating(I DO leave it plugged in). I have seen flash flood icons on the main screen and when pressed lots of map info, yet I have NEVER heard any traffic text or audio at the main gps screen.

Garmin 2009 map update now available at costco.com. I've never seen Costco sell map updates before. $54.99 plus $4.99 s&h.

What a wonderful group you have here. I just purchased my first GPS, Garmin 260W. As most know, there is not much in the way of manuals, so its off to the internet.

In just a few minutes I felt I gained so much more knowledge than any manual could have provided, it is amazing.

All of the tips and ideas are great.

Just got a new mac and i want to install use my c330. Driver disk is only for windows. Purchased the City Navigator 2008, but it will not update without the garmin software loaded. Can anyone help. New to Mac...

A friend of mine ordered the Nushield anti-glare shield for his C330. They come 3 to a pack and his screen is the same size as my C530, so he is sending me one. He is pleased with the results. Have any of the forum members tried anti-glare screens on their GPS units?

Does anyone have a database for a Garmin nuvi 760 to locate lakes and boat launches in Connecticut, New England or the USA?

How does one go about finding and/or producing this type of information to be put on a personal travel assistant.

It seems to me and anyone I have spoken to that this database would be invaluable to boaters and fishing enthusiats.

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

As we all create routes or put destinations in our GPSr for this Holiday weekends travel, lets not forget the Men and Women that served our country with such honor and made the ultimate sacrifice for all Americans.

I was wondering where I could find gps units that have no poi's on them. It doesn't matter what brand but I do want to be able to add all of the Poi's in certain areas myself.

An example would be adding all the Poi's for a tourist location and no other Poi's for the surrounding areas.

Any suggestions?

Hello Everyone Just wanted to let Everyone Know That the Poi Verifier will not work if you Upgrade your win Vista pc to the Microsoft Update Service Pack 1 I notifed RetiredTech and let him know also because i had Service pack 1 installed and when i went to use the verifier it did not work so i Uninstalled Service pack 1 and it is working fine again

I received the new NA map update 2009 disc today and began the install process by inserting the disc but when I do, it asks for the product key. Well, there is none. There is a s/n but no product key and I have looked high and low on the disc and the jewel case and the packaging and there is none and no papers in the envelope. Anyone know where to find the product key? Am I missing something?

I'm off for two vacation to the islands. I most likely will not have computer access during that time.
