This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.
This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.
Florida starting in on the summer season - temps in high 80's even along the east Coast. Need rain desperately.
Have a great week !
Got gas today and had 3/4 tank before fill up.Still 28 dollars to make it full. They got us right where they want us.
I remember when my husband was in Europe in the early '70'(military). He said gas was over $3 a gallon. Guess that's why they all drive tiny cars.
Leaving Detroit Sunday 6/8 by Amtrak to Chicago, and on to Denver where I am renting a car and driving on to Pine Haven, Wyoming. Lots of stuff to see and do along the way. I will be gone for two weeks. Will try to check in as often as possible. My Nuvi 750 should come in handy ...
it's the dog's fault
Hope you enjoy the trip, wish i was somewhere cool, Rightt now 90deg with 70% humidity = 98deg. but sure love this Florida weather, and the sky is fixin to open up, Hope ir comes my way.
Or the neighborhood. Diesel prices are $5.30 a gallon up the street. Ahhh inflation is in the air, the Jacarandas are in bloom, who cares about fuel prices? I DO!!! Oh well what ya gonna do…
I am planning on three week vacation tkaing me from the Denver area to Wyoming, across the country to Massachusetts and New Hamposhire and back to Denver. With the RV it will save on hotels and a rental car, but I think I will break even with the gas cost. Oh well, at least I will be able to stop when I want, I have my own personal seat, and I don't have to go through any security lines. Of course, I also don't have to deal with the friendly people of the TSA, and that in itslef is worth the extra $1,000 or so for gas.
Not leaving until 28 June, so hopefully they will drop a bit since the Memorial Day weekend is past, but I doubt it.
Take care, and we'll see you on the road.
P.S. Is there a thought of putting a spell checker on these discussion threads?
Took a trip to Seattle last week and spent a little over $200 for gasoline on my 4 cyl car.
You weren’t driving from Vancouver, BC to Seattle, WA....
Use Firefox for a web browser - spell check is built in.
took a week long trip at disney to see mickey and minnie,if gas prices werent enough to depress you ,i lost my windmill while i was gone ,maybe next time i will ask miss poi for an recreational leave of abscense...ha ha ....hello overyone
took a week long trip at disney
i lost my windmill while i was gone
You only need to post in three of the last five weeks, so your one week long vacation doesn't cut it as an excuse.
What did your horse do to get you that mad?
I drove pass my favorite gas station again today.
76 Union station. Gas prices posted for regular $4.83 per gallon. I think this guy is trying to be the first to reach the $5.00 mark.
Location of this station is in West Los Angeles, CA
I just got home from Detroit and the Red Bull Air Races....it's also the first time I've used my TT Go 930 in an area I really knew nothing about...I can't believe how easy it was to travel around the city! I always enjoy travelling but my TT made it so much easier!! BTW...the Air Races were FANTASTIC!!!
looked like summer was here in Utah low 80's now they are talking rain and snow in the mountains. Ski resorst will be open for father's day. what next. Gas still under 4.00.
Just moved from Southcentral Washington state to Denver with a 3/4-full, 17-ft U-Haul, towing my Toyota.
Total fuel cost, $592.62.
This is for those that can't find time to do other things.
Put off until tomorrow what can be put off....
Then delegate the rest!!
This should free up most of your time so now you can do the things you always wanted to do, but could never find the time to do them.
Good advice. I have tried it and it works
Ya - I put 3/4 of a tank in my Toyota for $60 in Boise... :-/
Thank you kch, I'll have to give that try.
I have always wanted to go to those, but never seem to get the timing right. I'll have to look into the Reno air races since I think they are closer to me.
According to my friend's Blog, who's driving a motor home to Alaska, gas was $1.25 per/liter in Calgary yesterday. I thought he was smarter than that. But it's only money. If you've got it, then fount it. He averages 7.3 mpg........ugh!!!
I guess we're real lucky here in east TN. My local gas price at a Pilot is $3.68 per gallon.
Hello to all - just did a driver change at Theodore, Al (Kiddos going to Orlando) - I drive a tour bus - filled up company car in Shreveport, La at 3.89 for unleaded and whoa 4.75 per gallon for diesel in alabama - Hot here in ETEX with temps in the high 90's low hundreds in the pm - ya'll have a great day
So $1.25/L 4L=1G = $5.00 a gallon. If this is true time for a nav trip to the good old USA.
I think that is the cheapest price in the USA. In my area, the gas prices is just slightly below the nation's average. It is at $3.91
Use Firefox for a web browser - spell check is built in.
Or used http://www.iespell.com/ for IE. It's free for non commericail users.
y in the wurld wud you want to use spelchecker caint anyone speill.
wel i sur cant. i usetobe an engener.
And I thought it was spelled Injunear !
Whatcha mean, "if this is true"? If it hadn't been true, i wouldn't have posted it......naw, I knew what you meant. Just joshing you.
Our gas at Kroger grocery is $3.79, and if you buy $100.00 a week in groceries they give a 10 cent a gallon discount. That helps.
Have a safe trip to the USA.
Spent most of the day outside (in 90+ degree temps) working on the honey-do list. Fell way behind in checking the unread posts.
And I thought this was a 36-hour-long Monday.
Ok update on Miss POI's new level of nerdiness.
I have found that when I work, I have 5 to 7 windows open at once. This got to be very confusing so Jon has now set me up with dual screens.
This is one of the coolest things ever (besides GPS of course). I am able to have many windows open now and not feel so confined to one screen.
It is now 11:18 at night here and all I want to do is work and play with this new setup.
I guess I should turn in now, I have lots of icons that bobkz sent in that need to be uploaded tomorrow;)
See ya all in the mornin,
I have 4 LCD'S hooked up to my two machines.....
Uses a Dual DVI with KVM to do the work...Well...the golden question is what do I do with 4 screens...
The obvious answer is ...I am a programmer....
Well have been working crazy for couple weeks now and following up on Obama/Clinton and Macain drama...was an interesting week....
Just a general question. How active does one have to be to get a windmill? I've been trying not to randomly post, and be a contributing active member, but don't seem to be getting anywhere.
As a side note, this has become my favorite site. You people are great!
thats what this forum is for you can post JUST about anything you want to in this area, just remember kids are on this site also. Have fun
I think you just have to post at least once a week in three out of five weeks.
I know it tells you some place in "getting started"
Also you can check your progress by clicking on your name and scrolling to the bottom...
We will be hit on both fronts. School Districts
plan for the school year near end of prior year the rack price on fuel keeps going up which means so of the schools trips may be cut. In NY we are paying
about 4.03 - 4.13 a gallon.
I use a garmin 350 can I plan trip on excel and sort
them to get the best travel with out wasted miles??
Strong storms last night here in Chicago. There was one particular thunder clap that sounded like our roof got blown off which fortunately is just fine.
Thank you aophiuchus!
I would be very careful in what you ask for, already had one named storm. I lived in Florida for 10 years Hurricanes run me off, plus it's just to dang HOT in the summer. The snowbirds have it right, Get out before Easter come back after Thanksgiving.
Suppose to be approaching summer....temps in high 40's here in southwestern British Columbia, plenty of rain and looks like November. Guess I'll start doing some early Christmas shopping
The dog days of summer are coming too quickly for my taste.
I do hope that our community will respect your wishes and do not repost files from other sites.
Hi everyone. If anyone happens to be in NYC/Manhattan this weekend, and has several hours to kill, you may want to swing by Madison Square Park to witness this year's Big Apple BBQ Block Party. I've gone several times and can attest to it being fun (albeit somewhat chaotic) but am skipping it this year.
Be careful, it's going to be a very hot two days here in NYC.
Miss POI, what operating system are you using? I have Vista, and I think that's all automatic. I really like the way that when I'm online, I can open another scren by clicking on the litle blank tab beside those that are already active. On XP, I had to minimize the screen I was on, and then open another version of Internet Explorer.
I am on XP;) I am usually a few years behind the times when it comes to upgrading software.
