Hi I’ve recently purchased a Garmin Nuvi 56lm. Before this I had a Garmin 52 lm. I purchased a micro sim with USA maps on which worked great in 52 on yet when I try to put into 56lm it can’t unlock maps any ideas guys cheers

Just updated my Nuvi's Voices and it made me think about space. On my old 650 I was running out of room so I deleted the files for all the Voices I never used (along with help files).

Any reason NOT to delete unused Voices & Keyboards from my 2699? They seem to range in size from 18k to 899k. I noticed that Keyboards tend to be ~17k, but the ones I don't use add up.

Garmin has a pretty good on line support that can help solve many problems you may be having with your device. Also a good way to gain knowledge on a future model you may have in mind. Here is the link https://support.garmin.com/en-US/ .Just put in your model number and you will have the option to choose a topic or to do a search.

I use that term loosely in the Subject.

I was using my 2699 today and noticed that when I come to a turn all she says is Turn Left or Turn Right. I could have sworn that she spoke the street names before. Yes this unit is new and I still use my old one, so I'm not sure about the voice.

So, should she say the street names? Did I turn it off somehow? Or did the unit develop a fault?

I recently purchased a Garmin Drive Luxe 51 LMT-S and wanted to add new alert sound files to use with my POI camera files. I asked Garmin what type (wav or mp3) is used, and was curtly told that “This information is proprietary”. So much for customer service.

Can anyone confirm which type of sound file is correct?

Just getting used to my 2699 and was wondering if there is a way to alphabetize the list that pops up when I go to: Where To / Categories?

There are 2 sections with the first showing Restaurants, etc., and the last section titled Search Tools. In this section Foursquare is first, and I don't use it at all. I would rather have Address, Cities, Coordinates.

Any thoughts?

Just did a software update for my 3597 ,not sure of what was invloved.Takes about a minute no problems.

I am trying to find out more about what version of Android the Garmin Monterra uses. Also, does anybody happen to know if Garmin is good about updating to newer versions of Android as they become available.

I haven't found a good thread about the features and map detail offered on these DEZL models such as the 570LMT.

I've used POI Loader for a long time to load .csv POI files to a series of Garmin Nuvi's.

Just bought a Garmin Drive 50, trying to set it up for my daughter. POI Loader doesn't seem to see it. Tried installing a micro SD card, still doesn't see it.

Anyone have experience loading POI's to this series? TIA.

Just got a 2699, what an improvement over my 660. Just took a drive on 81 in the NE and noticed that I kept seeing the gas and food symbol showing along 81. It's kind of like rest areas, not just places in the adjourning areas. So, how do I turn off these symbols?

I have a DriveSmart 61 LMT and am having a nightmare with custom POIs....

I downloaded a list of European Aires in GPX format which I put on the device, they now appear in 'Custom POIs' > 'My points'.

All good so far.

However, I'd downloaded the wrong list and now need to remove them, all 20,000 of them.

So there's no option to delete Custom POIs on the device.

I need to have USB jack on my Garmin 1490LMT repaired. I tried using Sharcnet-USA repair request, but it doesn't seem to operate. Anybody know how to contact them?

I am trying desperately to update my map in my truck. I do not have 150$

I have a Kenwood radio with Navigation, I have been trying to load POI's on it, but nothing is working. I think it loads with a micro SD card, the radio doesn't see anything. I tried loading with a USB card, that didn't work. Garmin Express on my computer says it can't see the radio as if I should connect the radio to the computer with a cable.
Any experience or thoughts?

I've updated my 2689, two 2460's via GE with no problems, went to install 2018.30 Lower 49 NE to my Zumo 550 and I'm getting an error message when trying to install to device and computer so I can add the rest to my SD card after.

My 550 only has 33 MB of 1.20 GB avalible.
