Do any of the new Garmin units call out which lanes to be in as you approach tool booths if you have transponder that negates need to stop to pay tolls ?
Not that I've experienced. I
Not that I've experienced. I don't think they have become that aware, yet;

Sounds like a good idea
I think it would be great if they did call out which lanes to be in...nothing like trying to cut across 4 or more lanes of traffic at 70+ mph at what seems like last minute when driving on unfamiliar interstate roads.
Nope
My garmin drive 50 says something like "toll ahead." It doesn't call out which lanes have the transponder but usually it is the right 3 lanes that are for I-Pass users.
A Great Idea But..
It's been my experience that the lanes used for cash / EZPass change frequently. On the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, this happens almost daily.
This information would indeed be helpful for GPS users but the database would be a nightmare to maintain.
Whenever I have been on a
Whenever I have been on a toll road with high speed EZ-Pass lanes Google Maps and Waze have always chosen the high speed lane. That is fine with me because I have EZ-Pass. Sounds like that would be a toll violation if you were caught unaware without a transponder.
Most of the time, if you go
Most of the time, if you go through the wrong lane without a transponder, you are going to get a mailed bill with a picture showing the car, license plate, and driver. The bill usually is higher than the ez pass toll and a "convenience fee.
You won't get through free.

Most Lanes
On my trips to NJ, most (if not all) of the Toll Booths say "EZ Pass Accepted All Lanes". This is in VA (Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel), DE & NJ.
My 3597 always wants me to be in the left lane. I do have EZ Pass.

Indeed that would be a nightmare to maintain.
I always use common common sense when using a GPS being aware of the situation I am in.
Case in point, often times I see the speed limit posted on the GPS is inaccurate when the speed limit signs posted are not what the GPS is displaying. No excuse when fighting a speeding ticket when using the GPS as proof being inaccurate when the posted signs indicate otherwise.

Sort of - my Garmin Drive
Sort of - my Garmin Drive Smart 61 NA LMT-S tries to route me via the ezpass lane, but I don't have an ezpass. Think you swerved into a great software update idea! Could add you ezpass state then the Garmin would know. Always sounds simple.

You Never Know
Next time I have reason to call Garmin I'm going to pitch the idea of incorporating iPass / EZ-Pass info into their units. I don't think execution would be all that difficult for them considering the large database of relevant info they already have.
.
I don't think GPS accuracy is good enough for individual lane location. Sometime when I'm on the service road, the GPS unit thinks I'm on the highway.
ETA: oops, misread the question.

Go to Garmin's website and click at the bottom where it says Have an Idea? They're open to submissions. I have a DriveSmart 70LMT and I'm pretty sure it tells me which lane to be in on the PA turnpike but I never saw a setting for EZ Pass on the unit, so maybe it's just guessing for the majority. In PA, it will soon be irrelevant as they're going to be eliminating all toll booth operators and everyone either has EZ Pass or just gets the ticket in the mail from their license plate picture - entirely automated. It's likely we'll soon see toll booth operators go the way of the milkman across the country.
Keep LEFT in IL

iPass in Illinois is Open Road toll collection in every lane. You have to bear right for cash toll payments.

Native function, or POI?
One problem is split toll plazas
It's been my experience that the lanes used for cash / EZPass change frequently. On the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, this happens almost daily.
Except that is not the real problem. In some locations (Delaware comes to mind) the expressway divides some half mile before the toll plaza. One side of the divider is exclusively and permanently EZPass. It's not like you can switch lanes if you don't have a transponder. At least Google Maps and I think others always select the EZPass only side so if you are following the directions and don't have a transponder, you have a toll violation

Unless they've reworked the Skyway, the IPass lanes are on the right, and last time I was there I still had to stop to get the gate to go up.
