nuvi 3790

This message is from the computer's operating system that has found a problem with the file structure on the GPS. This often happens if you have removed the 3790 from the USB connection on the computer without doing the "safely remove hardware" function.

I have done the "scan and fix" many times over the years and it has never caused any problems with the Nuvi. Usually it's a small single bite error that gets corrected. Even if the "fix" is more serious than what I have experienced, if you have a good backup copy of the contents of your Nuvi you should be able to recover without any major issues.

I get the same messages just ignore it. Matter of fact it maybe causing problem..

I will update the CN NA map on my nuvi 3790 first, then I will save the 3790 files to my computer. After that I might start the scan and fix program ?

As others have stated, it likely was caused by not properly telling the computer you were disconnecting the usb before unplugging it.

That being said, UNTIL you let it scan the device, you will get this message every time you plug it in. Odds are it won't find any issues, if it doesn't it will be very minor.

Not only with my 3590, but with my 3597. I click 'Scan and Fix' and a couple of minutes later, it says that everything is fine. You won't hurt your Nuvi by doing this.

Just don't let it Scan and Format!
