Newbie Streetpilot C580-speed help

Hi everyone,

I love my streetpilot c580, one of the coolest things I have ever bought...really razz

I have a few questions though and couldn't find the answers/didn't know where to.

1) I have the redlight camera and speed camera POI and I uploaded them to my streetpilot...does it automatically warn me when I approach the cameras? Is this pre-built into all the programing? Or is there something else I need to do besides just upload the files to my unit?

2) I saw that you have to name things the same so if you have a poi file for speedcamera then you need to name the image file speedcamera.bmp and the audio file speedcamera.mp3...well now speedcamera.mp3 shows up as music (even though it is in the POI folder) when I click on the music button. I don't want these to show up there should I just delete them?

3) I saw that for the speedcamera file someone made both a day and night image file of a cop car. If they have to be named the same as the file speedcamera.gpx how would I go about installing both of these images since they can't have the same name speedcamera.bmp? There are also specific speed icons such as 60mph 50mph 40mph etc...is there a way to install all those icons so that they show the appropriate picture for the appropriate speed zone?

Sorry for the n00b questions, if there is a link to the answers please post them.

THANK YOU!

1. The word "redlight" in the file name will automatically create a proximity alert of .25 miles when you load the file with POI Loader.

2. You need to place the MP3 file and the BMP file in the same folder as the Custom POI file ON YOUR COMPUTER (not on the GPS unit) when you LOAD them with POI Loader. Do not copy the MP3 file to your GPS unit or to your SD card.

3. You need to choose which icon you want and name it appropriately. You can't have two icons associated with the same Custom POI file. In order to use the icon with specific speeds, you would need to create separate files for each speed and associate the different icons with each file separately.
