deleting MP3 files nuvi370

Some of the MP3 files that have been loaded into my GPS do not show up on my PC when I link, even though they are listed in the GPS. I would like to delete these files to save memory. Is there a secret to this? (Most of the MP3 files do show up in both the PC and the GPS)
Thank you

.

Are you using a Mac?

Alerts?

I assume by "PC" you have a Microsoft Windows based PC. If you're talking about the MP3 alert files, you won't see them on the GPS via the computer as they're included in the *.gpi Custom POI file. If you're talking music files, do you have them on the aux card?

The files are not on a card. They are in the GPS hard drive. They are songs that I loaded in. Some of them do not show up when I link to a PC or a Mac. Most of the music files do show up when I link but not all of them.

If you deleted the files while the GPS unit was connected to a Mac and didn't empty the trash before you disconnected from the computer, the Mac created a hidden trashes folder. Find this folder on the unit and delete it and the songs will go away.

If you delete the trash folder doesn't it just go into another new trash folder? I just suggest emptying the trash while the unit is plugged in.

OP's post says he's on a PC

I have found that some Mac users will refer to their computer as a PC (generically) when they post questions. Only to find out later that they meant a Mac and not a Windows PC.
