Garmin talk

I "commute" between Tempe, AZ and Las Vegas and was in Vegas again for Thanksgiving week. I have noticed in my travels over the past three months, the POI file for Las Vegas Casinos is giving me wrong information.

Does anyone know how to create additional databases at the Garmin Extras level on a Garmin 770 rather than Garming Extras->Custom POIs? It must be some flag or something in the GPI file that tells it whether or not it should be a top level list or inside Custom POIs, but at least GPSBabel had no such options for me while creating my GPIs.

I am having trouble loading csv files using 'garmin poi loader.

I can load them directly to my 255w, however when I try to load them to a SD card I get an error message from poi loader saying it can not find any files.

Is it possible to load POI's from a csv file to a SD card using poi loader?

My wife's been asking for a GPS for over a year now, so I/we decided this would be the year to get her one.

Her little sister (traveling sales rep) was given a 205W by her boss on a weekend we helped her move, so I got to play with it first. I was so impressed with the basic little unit that I decided it was the minimum we would need... I like the widescreen.

I bought my nuvi650 last XMas (2007) and was a little disappointed to learn there were 3+ year old POIs in my brand new toy that had not been in business in over 3 years. At the time I figured it must need an update. I quickly learned that in December 2007 there were no updates available for the n650.

Firstable, you have to be disconnected from the Garmin device
Select CONTACTS.
Select OPTIONS,
select MARK/ UNMARK,
select MARK ALL
. Select OPTIONS
,select SEND,
select VIA BLUETOOTH (waiting...).

I'm pretty sure this isn't dependent on what type of GPS I have but I bought a nuvi 780 on Friday and I noticed that there's a city missing through the navigation function.

I spent some quality time over this past weekend with two different nuvi 765T units. The units have since been returned and I thought I would post the following obsevations to help any users out there who are "on the fence" about purchasing this unit to perhaps replace their 7x0.

Can someone please tell me how I can delete some of the vehicle files I downloaded from the WebUpdater? Thanks!

from my research prior to buying my 765T, I thought that I had read that you can't use your nuvi while it is connected to your PC via the USB cable.

that it will only charge while connected, or you can use Poi Loader, Web Updater, sites that support the Communicator plugin etc.

I am confused about the uses (and differences) between the 'Garmin Communicator Plugin' and the 'WebUpdater'. :?

Just bought a new Garmin Nuvi 200W (US version) with the City Navigator North America NT 2009 map.

All of a sudden I lost the voice portion on the 760 about 3 weeks ago. Checked the Mute and it is okay and checked general settings and they are okay. Any suggestions?

I have a Nuvi 660 blue toothed to my Motorola Razr V3 and I have sent a few text messages via the Nuvi to friends. My question is, how do I clean out my out box on the Nuvi 660? The old messages are still there and it would be nice to get rid of them at this point. HELP ME PLEASE!!

I have been using Garmin Nuvi 255W for last 2 days and so far fairly happy with it. TTS sounds little robotic sounding but I can live with it. I have heard that you can set proximity alerts on this unit that will alert you when you are approaching school zone, traffic cameras and red light cameras etc...
