don't worry

Your nuvi 205 will save the favorites in flash memory and the will not be lost if there is a battery drain (or if the unit is just powered off).

I don't know if there is an easy way to save or move "favorites" to the SD card (I'm new to my nuvi as well). There likely is and someone else may share this with us. But you could create custom "points of interest" rather than favorites, which could be stored on the SD card. A nice side effect of doing this is that you could easily share your custom POIs with any other nuvi user just by plugging your SD card into their nuvi. (use a micro-SD and a normal size SD adapter, as different nuvis use different size cards).

I don't know how much internal space the 205 has left. You could determine this by looking at the drive when attached to a computer by usb cable. I would not worry though, unless installing thousands of extra POIs, as they are very compact. If you need more space consider deleting or moving to the SD card the default pictures they included with the device. After that I might delete some of the foregin language files.

.

1. You can't save your Favorites to your SD card directly. You could back them up to your computer, though.

2. You won't lose your Favorites if your battery runs out.

3. You can store 500 Favorites. The unit has space specifically allocated for them in its non-user accessible memory.

Consider removing languages

Consider removing languages that you don't use. It's easy to delete when hooked to the computer, frees up a lot of space and is easily restored if you need with WebUpdater.

I believe the 205 series

I believe the 205 series will save 1000 Waypoints/Favorites.
