Garmin POI loader and Mapsource

I have tried to use the POI loader to upload .csv files to Mapsource but I don't get too far. I use the POI "Mapsource (Advanced) choice, go through the whole proceedure and get a "Congratulations" and "Finish".

It seems that the POI loader converts the .csv file to a .gpi file and files it on my hard drive.

Open Mapsource v 6.14.1, select the folder where the .gpi file is located and the file choices that Mapsource allows do not include either .gpi or .csv.

So, my question is what am I doing wrong/missing?

You aren't missing anything. It doesn't work.

MapSource cannot read GPI files.

It would seem (to me) that the POI Loader developers and the MapSource developers aren't in communication with each other.
