Will GARMIN ever have feature like MAP SHARE ???

Why Garmin do not have feature like TomTom's Map share.

Does that feature cause more problems for TomTom users???

I am a Garmin user and wish they had that feature.

thanks in advance.

It would be great

Especially if there was some way to certify that what the users submitted was accurate. Some of the POI files here are not very accurate; the result of blind geocoding.

Have to wait for other Navteq GPSr's to have it first.

your wish is being asked to the wrong people, Navteq owns the maps. Garmin can't do that without paying Navteq to develop this for them. Look for something similar on Navigons GPSr's first.

Was just curious... I think it is a nice selling feature for Garmin if they consider that....

I just bought a Garmin 855

I just bought a Garmin 855 recently (late June) and updated it to the newest 2010 maps before leaving for a road trip from Illinois to Kansas. I'm upset that some roads that have been built for years are not listed in the 2010 maps. Our churches address can't be found by Garmin because the road is missing and it was an old werehouse for years before it became our church.

After seeing the 2010 maps are not very up to date, I think maybe a Tom Tom with the MapShare feature would have been a better selection. Yes, I found someone with a Tom Tom and using the MapShare feature, the roads I'm missing on my Garmin 855 with 2010 maps are listed clearly on the Tom Tom unit thanks to the MapShare feature. The Garmin's speakers for audio output really suck too. Should I dare mention how poor/weak the FM audio output signal is, oh ya I just did.

If I had not already registered this garmin unit and was not so lazy to go through the trouble of returning it, I would! Unless Garmin changes, when I upgrade to a different unit it's going to be a Tom Tom.
