How do you use the Garmin traffic info when you are in familiar territory? Do you let the GPS route you to where you've driven a thousand times before or do you just watch the traffic display and do your own routing?

All were assembled and the POI loader 2.4.0 installed them.

I own a garmin Nuvi 660 for over a year now and I never figure out how I can take the speed zone alert sound built into the system. It is a continuous tone that sounds like a dull sound of a bell and a message appears that I'm in the speed zone of 2 miles per hour.

The battery on my 850 will fully discharge while turned off for several days. I can charge it fully with the Garmin external charger, disconnect the charger, turn it off, set it aside on my desk, and then it won't power up after sitting for a few days.

does anyone know how to change the color of a vehicle srf. for the Garmin's!!

need someone to do this if possible for me!!

To save time I have the c340 with sd card inslot using it for updated 2009 map update..I have dloaded Garmin poi loader..Mcdonalds poi and the macd alert..Can I load this into my Garmin and if so could i have alittle help doing so..I am alittle lost with the dl software..Thanks

hOW DO i OPEN THE CASE (without breaking it)? trying to see if I can replace the backup battery?

Can someone suggest a reliable FM Transmitter and a site to purchase it? Are ther any must have specifications when selecting a unit?

I thought I would pass along this mounting tip.

I didn't want to use the suction cup windshield mount that comes with the unit, and the idea of a vent mount in the summer when I usually have my A/C blasting, didn't seem too appealing.

if you hadnt known yet from my long post, my 660 was stolen.. so i had to get creative. i had my friend's laptop in the car but freakn Borders charge for internet connection so i scratched that idea... so i resulted.. to *drum roll* a county map.

Does anyone know why the power/traffic cables for the nuvi 765t and the nuvi 265t are so different?

I have the 765t, and bought a 265wt as a gift ... I was surprised when the cable wasn't the same - they both use the same traffic service.

The Garmin website doesn't have either listed in the accessories section!

I created a TourGuide for McDonalds with a .csv extension. I included a sound and icon from the libraries on this site.
Somehow the installation of these files corrupted my map file - according to Garmin technical support. I have sent the Nuvi 350 back to them and expect they will return a refurbished one.
My questions: did anyone else have this problem?

I tried to search for this answer and could not find it on this web site.

Once I use the POI Loader and loaded one of the custom made POI file, from my GPS interface, does these custom POIs got blended in with the existing POI's which came with the maps ?

I just want to see how do I use these custom made POIs, do I search for it as usual through the Where To -> Point Of Interest?

Just ordered a 265t and have a few questions. Ran search on the 265t and didn't get much info.

1. How much internal memory?
2. Max micro SD card size?
3. What can I put on SD card? POI's? etc.

is there a way, perhaps using MapSource, to convert a track to a route?

in other words, say I clear my trip log, and then drive a very specific route, making use of local shortcuts, that the nuvi may not utilize.

when I get to my destination, can I then take that track, and save it, and then somehow upload it the nuvi as a custom route, so that I can use it again and again?
