Garmin talk

I need to know how to delete individual favorites, and also how to edit some that have changed.

A friend has a Nuvi 205 and after he arrived here in Mexico he let the battery run down. It is now fully charged.

There is absolutely no response from the screen.
I used webupdater for the latest software for the 205.
Made no difference. Can not do a hard reset since the screen will not respond to anything.

Any suggestions other than its about time to buy a new GPS?

Now you can all have a good laugh. We take this Garmin to Europe and I decided to put some of the POI's on an SD card. I can find the POI's I put directly into the Garmin's memory.......but can't find the ones on the SD card. Where in HECK do I find these????

Traveling from Rochester, NY to Fort Wayne, IN using my nuvi 260w on a route that the device calculated. All went well through NY, PA and OH. Following Samantha's direction to Rt 24 S toward Fort Wayne when all of a sudden the device blinks and the vehicle icon is in the middle of a field (?). I can see 24 on the side of the screen, but Sam launches into recalculating mode.

How do I manage/organize POIs, custom POIs & favorites on my zumo550 with this combo?

Is there a way to "hack" the Garmin Dezl 760LMT to eliminate the annoying prompt that comes up every single time the unit comes on to notify you that you are in automobile mode?

this morning when I headed out to the gym, my 755 never acquired any satellites. Did not think anything of it until, on the way home and while running a couple of errands it never did find any satellites.

I reset the unit hoping that would help, but to no avail!

Is, or has, my trusty 755 given up the ghost?? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I tried GE for my 2300. It did not work. I used MapUpdater on a different computer as recommended by Garmin CS. Worked. The gps is updated but GE does not recognize this. How do I remove the "Updates are available" message from GE?

For those without lifetime maps, Amazon is selling Garmin nüMaps Lifetime North America Maps for $52.02 today. That is the lowest I've seen them in quite a while.

Both the mailed card and online code are the same price, in the past the online code has been a higher price than the card you receive in the mail.

Details:

Fixed an issue with Basestation mode.
Fixed an issue where BaseCamp would not remember the positioning of the toolbars correctly.
Fixed an issue where the Custom POI symbols from POI files where incorrect.
Fixed an issue with the address search.

I can't seem to get the newest map update to be stored on the Mac, 2013.40. 2013.3 got stored just fine. I have two GPS that I updated, 760 and 2555 with .4 but can't seem to get the newest map available unless I attach the unit and read the maps from the unit.

Any ideas?

I know that you can use the open street Maps with the garmin 20. But can you use with the Base Camp and how do I get transfer into the Map section for the Base Camp ?

BaseCamp 4.1.2 for PC is available at

The update from within BaseCamp should also work.

There doesn't seem to be a MAC version update released yet.

Does anyone know If webupdate and poi loader are working and they compatible with window 7 Professional, I use to have windowXp . so far on the Garmin website it still show all programs avaiable are for window Xp. Please someone let me know cause I need to re-install all Garmin software again.

I tried to make a .gpi file for redlight/speeds cameras. I used Poiloader 2.7.2 and sox 14.0.1 on Win7 (x64).(.csv .bmp .wav files)
This failed. But I succeed with Poiloader 2.5.3.

My question: Why failed Poiloader 2.7.2.? (either as 2.7.0 and 2.6.x)

Has anyone figured out how to change the automatic countdown timer (when the Garmin loses external power) from the default 30 seconds to a shorter number of seconds?

I seem to recall reading a couple of years ago that someone was able to change the number of seconds. But, I can't find anything on the topic by searching around the Internet.

When I use Mapsource, I find I have to go in and re-enter my "road avoidance" routes with each new map release. Even though this only takes about 10-15 minutes, I was wondering if there is a method to have my current road avoidance routes carry over to the next map release? Such as an .INI file?

Hi all,
I have a Kenwood unit which uses the same maps as your Garmin 37xx.
I have the maps so that is not the issue.

In the NUVI is an SQLite directory.
The I'm told some of the files here refer to the traffic and trends features.
In my Kenwood, I have the same directory, but not the feature.
In both Nuvi and Kenwood units in the SQLite directory is a file called "system".

Could anyone help me to set an new Garmin 3590 lt to English - it is in a Scandinavian language which I do not understand.
