Garmin talk

Perhaps I'm paranoid about backups, but I normally backup my 3590 whenever anything major changes. So, after the 2013.4 update, I attempted a full backup. When it gets to the new gmapprom.img, the GPS shuts down midway into that file backup.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but if so I can not find it.

I have Mapsource and Basecamp on my computer. Mapsource shows me as the latest 2013.1 as does Basecamp.

I have along the way updated from 2013.1 to 2013.2, 2013.3 and last night updated to 2013.4 on both my GPS's.

My Garmin Nuvi 265 has suddenly decided to repeatedly reboot during use. It seems to have started on the second last map updgrade when I needed to store the map on an SD card.

Now, it boots frequently every few minutes making navigation in the city difficult and frustrating.

Does anyone know what's causing this and what the remedy may be?

Like almost everybody else, I get a 'not enough space...' message when trying to load 2013.4 to the 855. I subsequently loaded only the eastern NA maps but would like voice navigation, which it says is unavailable with this download.

However, when I checked the files on the Nuvi, there is only 1 which is dated 2013. Here are the files I think are pertinent...

I have a Nuvi2555LMT

After updating to 2013.4 I lost the Junction View. I see no options in the menu to turn it on or off.

Also, after updating I see both map versions 2013.3 and 2013.4 which appears to be for Alaska showing in My Maps. I added an SD card, could it be that one version is on internal memory and the other is on the SD card? I used Garmin Express for the updates.

I have two nuvi 1490 LMT's. The first one updated with latest map update and large JCV file no problem. The second keeps telling me my maps are up to date but when I check the files, the old map is still loaded. I used he Garmin Express loader to update.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Going to UK in a 2 weeks, bought a new SD City Navigator Europe card and it won't be seen by my Nuvi 1210, tried the same card in a friends nuvi 200 and it works fine?? All help appreciated. Thanks, Fred

I make a certain trip several times annually. The Garmin always trys to route me a certain way, mainly major interstate. However, if I perfer to take a known alternate rout, mainly a four lane highway, that is both shorter and takes less time.

Hi guys ... I need some help to understand the quarks that are present when we use the Trip Planner (2555LMT) to plan a route.

Can anyone tell me how to find what map version is loaded? I've tried every Icon that comes up, including the "about", but I can't tell what version I have, and if I should update? Thanks, Bob

It's either 2013.30 or 2013.40, but I can't tell if the update worked.

Does anyone know if Garmin releases updates for the dezl truck line at the same time as the automotive line? The 2013.40 maps have been out for a week now for the Nuvi line and yet my Dezl still says maps are up to date despite the fact that it has City Navigator North America NT 2013.30 Truck - Map+HT+PA+P, Oct 12 installed. Anyone else have a 560 or a 760 like me?

Well it happened. I was rebuilding my daily driver, and when it came time to install my old Garmin software, I would get the error "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this program." After much Internet search, I found the solution.

I'm somewhat surprised to learn that no POI has been created for School Zones in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area.

I found one POI but it only has about 100 schools for a population of about 7.5 million people with many dozens of suburb cities that are medium size cities themselves. The file has not been updated or added to in a long time. Am I missing something?

is there a way to add the 3d buildings and the Topography from my 3590LM to my Dezl 760?

Just got off the phone with Garmin tech support. I was updating my 2 Garmin devices with the new Garmin Express. It seems that everytime I update a map Garmin has come up with a "new and improved" method to update your maps. With this new Garmin Express there is no longer a way to update your maps on your computer. INSANE!

Have done a 'reset' onm my Garmin Nuvi 3790t.
Loaded POI's: red light cameras
speed cameras
National Parks
State Parks
Rest Stops
Have just, and still am, travelled over 2000 miles from Minnespota to Flordia and NOT ONE POI has activated!!!

I thought it was possible to put the keyboard on the 3790 into QWERTY layout but I am not given this option. Anyone know anything about this?

Anyone have any insight into whether Garmin will go to USB 3.0 in the near future? The extra speed that would come with map update installs would be nice, and this spec would seem to be a selling point for anyone who is already in the market for a new GPS unit (don't know that I'd upgrade "only" to obtain USB 3.0 support).

I'm using a 1490T. I have thousands of waypoints in many files. I like to distinguish between them by using the variety of icons available in Mapquest. I have not found a 5" screen with LMT Which allows that. Am I missing something? BTW, I'm ready to throw in the towel on the 1490.

i recently purchased the dezl 560LMT looking through the various things and truckdown was one.. i updated the map and now the truckdown database doesnt show up when i click on Where To.. any ideas on how to fix this
