Hi....Have a nuvi 650 and I love it. Getting ready for a long road trip and trying to load some POI. I go through the whole process and it says that I have successfully loaded "x" items. Yet, when I go to the "extras" icon, it brings up the "Custom POI" page, but it's blank! Where are they going, and how to I get them to display???

Does the 660 accept routes and waypoints?

Has anyone bought anything from this dealer? They're located in West Palm Beach, FL, and they appear to have incredibly low proces on Garmin GPSr's. I'm looking at a Zumo 550 and they have it for less than $490 new and sealed in the box. Supposedly has all the stuff all the other online vendors offer.

If you've had any experience with this outfit, I'd really appreciate your comments.

Has anyone bought a bracket for their Nuvi? I have a friend who gave me a mount without the bracket.
I have searched Garmin, Amazon, ebay,and others to try to find just the bracket for the nuvi mount. I did find one on ebay for $18.95+ shipping, way to much for a piece of plastic.

I have a nuvi 660..can someone tell me what is Screenshot on and off?..and what is Simulator on and off? and what is Map Outline on and off?...thanks!

Does anyone know which file contains the startup screen image for the Garmin 750.

I was playing around with splash screens and something got corrupted. When I start my 750 the Garmin logo is distorted and then the splash screen is blank. Also, when I plug the 750 into my computer the screen is blank.

I tried deleting all of my jpeg files but that didn't work.

I found a GPX Converter Program to turn .csv files into .gpx files. This was mentioned on GeoTourGuide.com. Does anyone have expereince with this converter? Please, if you have used it, let readers know your thoughts about it. Thanks.

I have a Garmin 760 and have noticed that the name of the street I am on is now showing since the update to 3.1

So i got my first GPS, nuvi 360. I love it. IT's a great little gadget. One thing i noticed though was that it is missing a bunch of places. Like if you go to the "Where To" menu and select entertainment and then movies, it wouldn't list a Century 25 that is the nearest theater next to my house. Similar, with some stores so i started researching...

There are other threads discussing splash screens, but I thought I'd mention this is a new thread. I found a very nice website which allows you to create a personalized splash screen for your Garmin. My Nuvi 660 just up and quit on me this past week. Fortunately it is still under warranty. I am interested if anyone else has had issues with the 660 not being able to link up with satellites.

I had loaded the POI's red light and Bank of America on the 360 with POI Loader it worked before now when I was sitting across the street at a light it didn't alert me, I have deleted it, is there something I did wrong?

Hi all,
This morning was the 1st time I took my brand new Garmin C550 with me to drive to work and tested it. While everything worked pretty much as I expected, it didn't display any street names (even when I zoomed all the way in) when an active route is being navigated (I set it to go from my home to work.)

We are planning a trip to England and Hertz charges about 165 dollars a week for their GPS system. I can get the Garmin maps of Europe for $150. My question is, how does that work? Do you put the maps on an SD card or do they overwrite your US maps and then would you have to put your US maps back on.

Hey all - I had thought I could save a waypoint on my 660 and retrieve the coords later, but I can't seem to do that. Is there a way to get the coords of a saved waypoint so I can use them to create a POI with an alarm?

It appears that Garmin has a free Worldwide Basemap available for download. It is an older version than what comes on nüvis, but might still be useful for travellers. Just backup the "Americas Lite Basemap" Ver 4.0 file "gmapbmap.img" before overwriting.

Right now, I'm trying to find a good mount for the car, but the 880 is not listed in sellers' descriptions.
I want a vent mount, preferably removable, since I won't leave the 880 in the car during summer down south, or during winter up north. I simply refuse to use the suction mount, but ordered from Garmin a beanbag mount which showed compatable with the 880.

After I used WebUpdater 18July which brought my software version to 3.60 TourGuide no longer works. I had done a successful local trial of TourGuide previously with the alert point off my simulated route. It no longer works when I repeat the identical scenario or even if I locate the alert on route. The alert POI is on an SD card and is shown in POI

I have a nuvi 750 which I bought last January, missing the free map update. I started to think, does it make sense to update the map over the life of the unit?

If you pay $500.00 for the unit and the map is current at the time you buy it I don’t think it makes any sense to update the map. Here is an example.
