POI downloads

I'm a newbie and have a Nuvi 650. I downloaded The Tennessee, South Carolina and Miss. state park files with campgrounds. When I go to EXTRAS the files are there but when I search for "RV" or "CAMPGROUNDS" I don't get any of them. Any Suggestions?

You can't do a search

You can't do a search for Custom POIs electronically - what you see is what you inputted with POI Loader and going to "Where To">Favorites>Custom POIs for some models and Extras in other models ! Not sure of the total chain of key punches for the other models !

Hi woodturner1001,

Welcome to the poi-factory...

Why don't you put your state park files, with campgrounds, in a separate folder inside the folder, where all your other poi files are located. Name the folder, for example, "Campgrounds" (without the quotes). After you upload your poi's and disconnect your unit, go to Where To -> Extra's -> Custom POI you'll see a listing named "Campgrounds" and that's where you'll find all your campground specific poi's.

You can have as many "sub-folders" inside your main POI folder as you want, but just remember, you can't have any sub-folders inside the sub-folder(s) you create.

You can also use the "Search" function on the site and type "Sub-folders" (without the quotes) and that should clarify the issue for you.

HTH (hope that helps)

Try this

I have a 650 and tried a couple of things, maybe this is what your looking for, I loaded 1500 files onto a s/d card, tap extras, then a bar comes up for custom pois, tap that, then a list of the loaded poi's come up, then at the bottom theres a bar for spell, if you put in a partial name, such as b for blue, then all the Blue poi's will show, OR if you go to ALL categories then do a spell and it will sort out the ones your looking for.
That is the only way i can see doing what i think your trying to do. I dont know if that is any easier than just scrolling thru the list.

Thanks "Tailspin"
I should have realized that I needed a subfile as campgrounds. I think that should fix it. I sure am picking up a lot of great info in this group.
