Using coordinates instead of street address

I will soon be working out of state on a gas drilling rig. Typically, the rigs are "out in the sticks." Thinking of my wife visiting and my not having a street address to give her to put into her nuvi, will the nuvi find my work location out in the country if I give my wife the coordinates to put into it, just as it would if it had a street address? I've never tried it.

Thanks in advance,

williea

Sure would

The problem would be if it would know what road you are on if it's truly out in the boondocks.

Coordinates is all the GPS really knows, anyway. It will route her to the nearest road and then draw a straight line to your location if you are located somewhere that is not on the map.

How would you enter the

How would you enter the coordinates into the nuvi?

go to Where to?

scroll down to coordinates and enter

Yeah, it should work fine

Yeah, it should work fine then. I will be in the gatekeeper's trailer which is typically right off the road nearest to the site.

Set things up beforehand

You can set your nuvi up before you go by finding your exact work location on Google Earth then building a custom POI. Foolproof.
