In 5 really easy steps.
1. Change language to British English instead of American English (you can keep karen/american voices -- no difference)
2. Mount nuvi as usb device on PC.
3. Open up wordpad and edit the british language gpp file in Garmin/text on the nuvi.

This has probably been asked before but I can’t find it. On my old Garmin or my Lowrance (for the boat), I can reverse any route to track back to the starting location. I don’t see such a feature with the Garmin 750. So far I’ve just selected the starting point to track back and let the Garmin re-calculate every time I take a slightly different route than the one Garmin picked.

I'm a new Nuvi 255W owner and the first thing I wanted to do was plan a trip from Texas to Florida. While the routing algorithm seemed to work quickly and the route displayed on the map looked reasonable, I couldn't find any summary of the trip (total miles, estimated travel times, etc.) as would be found with a typical PC-based mapping program.

I just purchased the GArmin 255W...my 1st GPS.

How about this technology,heh? I have owned a C330 for a little over 3 years and have loved it (99.6% of the time). The occasional "recalculating" at the wrong time would tear at my nerves but overall it has been a rock-solid workhorse.

hi, do you have to charge the nuvi right out of the box? or should it turn on automatically? or do i charge in my truck overnite? thanks

I just got a Nuvi 760 from Santa and have used Garmins
POI Loader to load all the POI's(cvs files) I have on
my Nuvi 360. I can not find any Custom POI's anywhere on my Nuvi 760, or find any information in the user guide.
Any help is appreciated.

Can the Garmin 760 display the speed as well as a left or right arrow for the next turn.

I have a few unlocked maps in mapsource (i.e. japan and bermuda maps from rwsmaps.griffel.se). I wanted to put those on garmin mobile XT loaded on my samsung symbian phone. Is it possible to do it ? should i just use mapsource ? will it overwrite the existing city navigator locked maps loaded on the phone in XT already ?

Is there such a gadget out there that not only charges my Garmin Nuvi but also connects the Bluetooth phone conversation and Garmin's Jack, Jill and Samantha's voice directions through the car's speakers? Yes, that would interrupt the AM/FM stereo music that is playing temporarily.

Hi everyone! From your experience with the 3D screen, which Garmin car or object gives the best car or object's actual location indication on the Garmin screen as you're driving.

I noticed that Nintendo's Mario is kind of slow moving in that I drove past Norwood Avenue before Mario did the same on the screen. Or should I go to a 2D screen to get a better location indication?

When does Garmin usually come out with the updated Maps?

I programmed my Garmin 265WT to direct me to Fleet Avenue. I decided to just trust Samantha's voice directions and aided by the actual street signs. She told me to "Turn right on Magnus St. then turn left". I did what she said and I turned right on Magnus St. when I saw the street sign "Magnus" and then I looked to see how I could turn left IMMEDIATELY and guess what?

just got my nuvi for christmas and have a quick question ? when the nuvi is hooked to my computer to charge the battery can the unit be powered on ? all i can see on the screen is garmin and the icon showing the garmin is hooked up the the pc . i would like to program my address in while the battery is charging . thanks for your help and merry christmas

I've found something very strange with my 760...

I have a Garmin 760 that I just recieved as a gift. How do I save new POIs to my SD card instead of the GPS memory????

The process of creating POIs for the Garmin is pretty simple and has been discussed and explained in many posts on this website (http://www.poi-factory.com/node/1631).

Basically creating a POI involves:

• Creating a text file and naming it with an extension of CSV (the CSV stands for a Comma Separated Variable)
• Inserting each point of interest on a separate line

Been playing around with taking the tracks/trail from my Garmin 750, then opening that file in google earth to see my path. Found at least two ways to do it. If I delete routes and favorites, then grab the current.gpx it works. But if I connect the 750 to Mapsource to use it to pull the file tracks from 750 to PC it doesn't work.

An observation many of you have found, but I just realized it. Went under a tunnel (definitely lost satellites) for about 30 seconds, watching the map. It assumed I kept the same speed & direction, so when I came out of the tunnel, it put me very-very close to my actual location.
