I have just joined the group and boy is it great. I have a Garmin 760 paired with a Motorola V360. It works great. I am even able to voice dial. My problem is with the custom POI's that I have loaded. If I go to Where To then to Extras then to custom POIs all the custom POI's are there along with the phone numbers, but I am not able to call a number after selecting a POI from here.

Have searched the threads and do not see one relating to this so if duplicate, I appologize.

I read that the Nuvi screens are not touch sensitive enough requiring a lot of effort to select options, touch the required button, and are finger-print magnets. In time, will that make the screen uneven, collapse or develop craters due to applying so much finger pressure? Will the Nuvis last not as long as the older model Garmins of years ago?

Unlike the Nuvi 265W with the new map screen which shows a left or right turn ahead, the old map screen of the older Nuvi 760 doesn't show directional turn. How then does one know whether to keep left or right in order to execute the proper next turn without touching the screen to find out?

I am sure this has probably been discussed, and I don't know how to search the right words for it. Is it possible after a trip to download your track to the computer and look over the route?

Can the nuvi be hooked up to a laptop and used for active tracking on a map?

So a long time ago I was on here and received the Red Light POI file as well as a few other good POI's. There were on a computer that's drive failed. Is there any way to retrieve those custom POI's off my C330 so I can install them onto my new Nuvi 250W?

Hi all- I just added custom POI's to my 780. I used the Garmin loader and it added them but I am not seeing the accompanying logos I downloaded with the POI's when viewing the map. Any help appreciated.

Just wondering if there is a reason that the nuvi 265 wt isn't able to give speed limit alerts everywhere on the map. Is this something more available in the states? I live in Vancouver and never get speed limit alerts.

I have a new Nuvi and I was making the trek home from DC yesterday in the HOV lanes and the GPS kept prompting me to exit the commuter lanes and get into the "main" lanes. Why is that? Any way around it? Not that I followed its instructions, but I'm sure some people might.

Ok, I have read almost all the posts I can find on the subject, read the manual, etc.

and still I can NOT get my Garmin Zumo 450 to find any of my music files and play them.

I have a 4GB SD card in the unit. I created an MP3 foler (like there is one on the Garmin unit itself).

Copied a bunch of .mp3 files to that directory. and the garmin doesn't find them.

Garmin posted new screenshots of the nuviphone in action today.

Scroll to the bottom of the page. The screens look similar to iPhone screens but with a better map navigation page. I still don't know if this is going to be too little, too late for Garmin as the iPhone is a much more versatile handheld computer.

I loaded walgreen's custom pois to my Garmin Nuvi 760.. When I turn it on, go to where to, extras, it says custom pois... I hit customs pois and the walgreens come up.

Question: How do I go to extras and instead of custom poi's coming up, how do I get it to come up Walgreens???

i will start by saying i am new to all this. i love my gps(garmin 660) i work for electric company and have to go out of town to help restore power in storms. question #1 is there a poi for bridge weights and overpass's. (ny,pa.mass.ohio,conn.) we drive trucks that are 13 feet high and weigh 10 to 30 tons many times our gps takes us ways we cant go because of underpass or low bridge weight.

I cannot delete custom poi files. I go to the poi loader and delete pois and then when I turn my garmin 760 on, their still there.

Ok, I'll be the first ... the first to confess that the first thing I do with a new Garmin GPS is disable the "Safe Mode" so that I can fiddle with the touch screen while I fly down the expressway ... both eyes on the road and my third eye on the GPS screen.

I uploaded a POI file to my Nuvi 205. The places are not displayed on the map when I drive. When I go to the menu and search the POIs, the file is there, and the locations are correct. Is there something I need to do to turn on displaying the POI?
