Is there any reason that when there is a snow or rain storm or even fog that a Garmin with A high sensitivity receiver wont get sattelite reception

Nuvi 200w is on sale at Target for 119.00. I wasnt sure if anyone would be intrested

So I found a usb cable that goes to a MP3 player that also fits my 255w. However, when I plug it in to my computer it constantly switches between storage and charge mode. For some reason it won't stay connected as a storage device long enough for me to upload poi's or other data. Should I just buy a new usb cable? I know they're really cheap.

Does anyone know what the available memory is on the 255w? Is there a way to access this on the unit?

I have just bought three 780s for the our three cars. Looking at the MSN Direct pages, I don't see any discount options, so I thought I would ask if anyone managed to get a discount?

I have a question for users of Garmin handheld's (etrex Legend Hcx). Can you selectively display poi's (meaning display a certain poi database) or is it an all or nothing situation?

I have bought another Nuvi350 for my wife and want to put POIs on that new one. Since I have misplaced the .csv file somewhere, I will have to transfer it from old one. Can someone please tell me how to do that.

As I was driving home tonight I notice the magenta line that marks your route was missing. If I zoomed in and out I would see it momentarily but it wouldn't stay on the screen. I was traveling a route that I made with Mapsource. Got home and had a idea the difference was I was traveling a route that I created. So picked a spot on the map and said “Go” to it.

Can someone tell me where I can find out what the keywords for custom POI are and the correct use for them?

Can you transfer a route from mapquest or google to a Garmin 660 ?

After using a Street Pilot C330 for a couple of years (and being very happy with it) I decided to upgrade to something with a few more features. Went with the Nuvi 265T. I love it but am hoping some of you who have more experience with the nuvi can answer a couple of questions.

I have a Nuvi750 running V4.2 and 4.5 for the GMT20.

I just got the FM Traffic activated the other day on my trip to Louisville. The only time I saw any traffic indications were when I use MENU >> TOOLS >> TRAFFIC... I see the indicators for accidents on that GREY TRAFFIC MAP and not on the main map used for routes and just driving.

Just want to share some interesting things I encountered:

I can't download GPX files while browsing POI Factory with IE beta 8. But Google chrome works.

Then, the POIs must be saved in for example C:\POIs for POI loader to load them correctly without error. If I save the POIs in a folder created on the "desktop", POI won't load it.

Anyone had the same experience or knows why?

i know you can put pois on a sd card i did it and i was wondering to add more will it add only the new ones or will it erase the ones that are on there and only install the new ones i hope this makes sense,i think when you put them to the unit it erase the ones that are already on there before it installs the new ones,thanks

I noticed that there is a dead or stuck pixel on my Nuvi 200w LCD screen. It is noticeable when the background is dark and there is one tiny glowing dot. I know it is not dust because I have cleaned that surface several times.

Sorry if this question is answered somewhere else on the forum but I have a quick question about the traffic subscription.

Does the 255W or the 265W BOTH come with LIFETIME TRAFFIC subscriptions?

Or maybe I should ask... Does the 255W have the same traffic capabilities as the 265WT?

Still learning my 750, most of my best education has come from this site, clearly not the manual. So if I have the process correctly, these are the steps to load a route from Mapsource to 750

Import route from file

Just got the 750 and have been doing a lot of reading on this site. Found the thread about using google earth and mapquest to create routes. So create a route in mapquest from point A to point B. Let's say it takes a route that I want to modify. So I drag the route on mapquest to take a couple different roads. I click on update route.

Like making a CAMPING categori or a WAL-MART... instead of grouping them in only one place (custom poi)

I just finished running the Garmin WebUpdater.It show I had the latest software.Continue on to next screen and seen the update called Localization Dat,XML File. Anyone got any info on this and is it a necessary update.I know it was not there when I updated before from 4.50 to 4.60.
