Cigarette light adapter that transmits Bluetooth/Voice directions through car's speakers?

Is there such a gadget out there that not only charges my Garmin Nuvi but also connects the Bluetooth phone conversation and Garmin's Jack, Jill and Samantha's voice directions through the car's speakers? Yes, that would interrupt the AM/FM stereo music that is playing temporarily.

Not exactly but there are many ways to pipe the Nuvi output into your car/truck radio. Check this recent thread: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/19298

I don't think there is any

I don't think there is any charger which will do all the desired functions. There are Nuvi models in 7xx and 8xx range which come with Bluetooth, FM transmitter features.

You can get voice directions and MP3 audio by using external FM transmitter connecting it to audio out but not bluetooth. So your best option will be to get Garmin with bluetooth and FM transmitter

Since it doesn't tie into

Since it doesn't tie into the radio directly, can't lower the volume or shut it off.

I use a Parrot CK3000 that does what you're looking for. But it's perm installed.

Nuvi 760

Thanks for all the tips! I just looked at the Futureshop Boxing Day flyer and the Nuvi 760 is on sale for $299.99 Canadian. Isn't that a super price?

It says the Nuvi 760 also plays MP3, but will it play audio books?

Any audio book that is not in Audible's format must be converted to mp3 and the problem is that you can't use bookmarks to save your place. It will be close if you use the pause, but not very close -- at least it never restarts beyond the pause point.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
