Is it common for a gps to recalculate after stopping for a short period? when I start to move it jumps all over recalculating and has at times caused me to turn at the wrong road. any explanations?

just wondering, how do i use garmin communicator, i realize its to get pois off of google maps but how do i do it?

Hopefully this isn't considered too far off topic. I have been using Garmin Mobile XT the last few days. I have update the operating firmware, downloaded POI files, and added favorites from Mapsource. Now I want to add a custom vehicle. Does anybody know for certain that it can be done?

I just downloaded a file called Quilt shops but when I go to load open it I get a message saying it can't be opened as the computer doesn't recognize the application that created it. What do I do now?

I purchased a nuvi 755T a few days ago and have some questions about a couple of the features on this device. The first feature is 'lane assist'. I've used the GPS several times through Nashville and have yet to see a 'lane assist' display. I assume it's only applicable while in a route, and I've been navigating a route. What else has to happen to trigger this function?

After reading the post on the POI's I went to the factory POI'S site downloaded the Yamaha dealers

When I open my Zumo it says Found new files do you want to manage now. I push yes and then it gives me the only option to bring them in to my favorites . I know that is not were they should go .

On our trip from Dana Point back to San Diego Jack tried twice to route us off the 805 only to have us get right back on.

I just updated the firmware on my 765T to 2.50.

After that initial update screen, there was an option to check for some other updates such as a Danish voice and a blue sports car.

I don't need the Danish voice, and I know how to add vehicles if I want any, so I did not check those boxes.

I can't get my 765T to power up this morning, and it is not recognized when I connect it to my PC via the USB cable...have not used it for a couple of days, but it worked just fine the last time.

is there a reset button?

I am trying to find POI Loader version 2.4.0. I tryed garmin site but was not able to get that version can anyone tell me were I can download that version.

I've purchased the lifetime subscription for my Nuvi and along with the activation code, I received the following instructions:

1. Go to http://www.garmin.com/webupdater to download and install WebUpdater on your computer.
2. Connect the device to your computer.

Been a member for two days and have learned tons reading the FAQs and posts from so many different folks.

So I don't get started off on the wrong foot and download files in the wrong format....

I have a Nuvi 650.

I see that I often have a choice of four formats in which to d/l POI:

GPX
Garmin CSV- regular line breaks
Garmin CSV - Nuvi 350/360 line breaks

When I run the picture show on my 350, the pictures are not covering the entire screen. If I stop the show, I can blow up each individual picture to cover the entire screen. However, as soon as I start the picture show again, the pictures go back to the smaller size and only cover about a third of the screen.

I have a Garmin 760 and was wondering if somebody could tell me how to back it up in case I have a failure. I really do not want to try and find all the POI's I have loaded. Thank you!

Anyone been able to get the download feature of the new MSN Live Maps to work (ability to download directions direct to your GPS from MSN website)? Their website is http://maps.live.com/ and according to the directions you can find a location, get the directions from a starting point, and then download it directly to appropriate Nuvi's.

Just purchased a new PC and rather than reinstalling all the applications that I was so anxious to load when I first bought my Garmin nuvi 760, I thought to check with other users' experience.

What apps do you consider essential to have for Garmin units?

I have a nuvi 260 and my son has a nuvi 200 and he has a feature on his that i would like to have on my gps that i dont have. it is the the 'where am i?" I was wondering if any one out there has any idea if it is possible to program that feature in my nuvi 260?

My wife thinks my 2610 and 2820 are too hard to use, but is thinking she would like a simpler unit for her car. Most of the features I can find on Garmin's website.
