Garmin 250

I got my daughter a 250 for Christmas. Though it gives turn-by-turn directions with voice, it does not name the street to turn on. For example: instead of saying "Turn right on Main Street", it simply says "Turn right". I looked through all of the settings, but couldn't find anything that would change this. I haven't seen that on any of the other models I have handled.
Assuming the 250 has TTS
have you selected one of the voices that supports TTS

The 250 does not do "Text to Speech"

Thw 250 does not do Text To Speech, There is no viouc to choose that will kame it do it.
The 250 or 250W does not
The 250 or 250W does not support TTS (text to speach, road names), models 255 (US version) and 260 (all versions) onward support this feature.

Try To Return It
Basic units do not come with Text-To-Speech that announces street names.
If it's possible you may want to return it, and make sure the next unit you buy provides this feature.
