I recently purchased a Garmin 350 refurb. When I registered it, ver 6.0 software was downloaded. Now when I go into diagnostic screens I see that the number of recharge cycles = 1.

My question is: does a hard reset or a software upgrade reset this counter to 0, or did I maybe get an unused unit (or battery)?

I downloaded a Speed and Camera alert file for Canada and found some areas where speed traps exist that aren't included. I can update the file for myself (I think ), but if I wanted to share that info, how does one do that?

After adding the line(s) and saving, than what?

I've had my 1st Auto GPS less than a week and had some questions about speed alerts.

I've read about using the @ symbol for setting the alert speed so that makes sense, but is it possible to put a comment field in a csv file to remind me that I've changed the original file?

So, for instance in the following line (from a file I downloaded):

My 750 now averages over 10 minutes to locate a satellite when I first turn it on. After 3-4 minutes it says something to the effect of "Trouble Aquiring Satellites, continue?". Then is says "Locating Satellites and continues to take foreever.

What EXACTLY does the "Attention Tone" located under the "Navigation Setting" on the Nuvi 660 do? Mine is Off and I was wondering what it will do if I turn it on? I'm still getting all my POI alerts with it off so what purpose does it serve? I looked in the owners manual and all it says is "Turns the attention tone on or off". Duuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I made a poi file" redlight.csv" and noticed in the morning driving north to south I dont get a alert but in the evening driving south to north it works. can anyone tell me why this happens?

every time i load poi it deletes my old poi how do i make a list of poi in extra screen

Does Navteq only provide traffic alerts for expressways? I have never received an alert for major arterial roads in Chicago.

OK So I had one POI file running in my Garmin nuvi660.
Over the holidays since we were traveling up the interstates, I decided to load the rest stop and speed trap POIs. Well, now that I did that, the original POI files dont work !

Any ideas ?

I am finaly in an area where my free 1 year MSN trial works. I receive all the weather, traffic, gas prices and movie times just fine. The porblem I ran into is that the mail screen displays a "thunder storm" icon. When I touch it, it says "no matches found". Then if I touch the bottom corner to view my next turn while navigating, it also selects the thunderstorm icon.

I've been looking at the Garmin Nuvi 5000 as a possible future replacement for my sp7200. I'm just looking at the moment.

Does anyone have any actual hands-on experience with one?

If I have POI's loaded on my Nuvi, and want to update them via an SD card, will they replace the existing ones, or just add to whatever's there?

I treated my self to a Christmas present and bought a Garmin Nuvi 265WT. This is my first GPS unit and I must say that I love it. I didn't know the first thing about them so I did some extensive research and I am very pleased with my choice of unit.

Just heard on the 5:30 pm news that all of the speed cameras here in Arizona are now set to trip over 11 mph ,,,Boy how nice they can be 1 more mph,, they said it will help to off set the inconsistency of the cameras. What a scam....

I have a Garmin Nuvi 770 and I can't seem to get the POI's to show on my active route map. Does anyone out there know a fix for this problem? ( I have been able to display POI's, if I touch the map and go into the explore mode, but even then I have to zoom way in to even get that to work) Thanks!!!!!!!!

I was wondering if anybody else ran into this issue. When i have my mp3 player playing and proximity alerts pop up, the mp3 advances 1 song . THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME, NOT JUST SOMETIMES. I let garmin know and they told me they will look into it.

Edmunds reported that an anouncement made by Garmin at the ICS show in Las Vegas that Garmin in Feb will be offering a free software update to the company's stand-alone personal travel assistance the Nuvi 205 and 705 series that will allow drivers to select the most fuel efficient rount and to track their fuel useage.

Just purchased the Nuvi 260. Started with Tom Tom One 125. Kept finding map inaccuracies. Also, the window mount constanly fell off the window. It was an ok unit, but I like the Garmin much better. Problem: I drive many miles for my job, and I use the unit to see upcoming cross streets.
