Because they are no longer there.

I understand that if you upload some files, it wipes out the original ones. You have to upload all the files together.

When you load any POI file, it replaces the old poi file in the Garmin if you have not renamed that file.

suggestions (pick 1):

A) Have all of the POI files that you want to load (and any support files such as matching bitmap icons) in one folder (or in subfolders 1 level directly under that folder) and load them all at once.

2) After loading a POI set, go into the Garmin through the "my computer" interface and look in the POI folder. Rename the POI file to a different file name with the same file extension, using a name that you will identify with that gropu of POIs. When you next load POIs it will not be overwritten. When you boot up the Garmin not connected to a computer, it will find all of the POI files based on the file extension and make all of them avilable under Extras.

Many ways to do. But the simplest from my limited perspective is to create a new folder(directory) and name it something like "upload." Now "copy" the poi files that you collected, plus any associated images and sounds desired that have the same file name but different extension (ie .mp3, .bmp) into that "upload" directory, run the POI loader and answer yes to each POI file detected by the loader.

Thanks all ! I just

Thanks all ! I just reloaded all my POIs by pointing the loader to my POI file on my computer. It prompted me to set the alerts for all the different files I had. I checked under extras and they are all there.
