So this bud of mine got a 765 for Christmas, used it about 3 times in the car locally, and then added a few POI's and a TourGuide or two.

I was speaking to a friend of mine tonight about all the useful features of my new Garmin 360. He's a software designer and he's also the author of a popular media player. I was telling him I wanted to beef up the media player a little on my Nuvi.

Is it possible to add a mp3 voice alert to the redlight POI for the 350 instead of the standard "ding" alert?

The reason I ask, is that if you try to download a bundle from Garmin Garage for the 350 it tells you that you cannot install the mp3 files as the 350 is not a voice compatible unit.

My wife has a Garmin 350 purchased in Dec. 2007 with the original maps. North American Ver 8. Is this the 2007 maps or the 2008 maps.

When creating your own POI, using the .csv format, is there any way to order your POI so they appear alphabetically on the Garmin vice having them appear sorted from closest to furthest away?

ok...ive seen a few people with completely WRONG impressions of the traffic services. heres a few CORRECT notes on traffic service. if you think different - youre WRONG. stfu.

1. FM Traffic is a paid service.

I have tried to find on the site on how do you load music onto my 760. I have itunes and would like to load my play list to the garmin. Can some one help or show me the thread . I have tried everything that I know and no luck. Thanks

Recently I was able to d/load the Red Light Cameras and installed them on my Nuvi200W. All went well uploading the new files, but I noticed when I approached a redlight camera that I already had in place and with a personal wav file added to the camera file, I only got a default alert sound. Apparently the new camera files wiped out my personal wav file.

the first time i used my garmin 350 it let me drive by the address. does it matter if you are moving when you enter the address?

FWIW, I just discovered that if you go to View Map, then tap on Speed in the lower left-hand corner, then press and hold on the big mph icon for seven seconds, you will get a series of menus with lots of info. Just keep pressing Next at the bottom of your screen.

If you press and hold on the battery symbol or, on some models, on the time display, this too will lead to hidden sub menus.

have a garmin nuvi 5000 and wanted to know what the ports on the mount are for. i know what the a/v port and the audio out is for and the port for the msn power cord.but what is the other for? the one on other side. what is the usb port for? i plug the it on to the computer and nothing happen. ( i am talking about the usb on the mount not the unit) if any one can help please let me know

i have a nuvi 660 that i loaded all my poi with the garmin poi loader, i have all files, the csv or gpx and the bmp and also the mp3 for the file , example speedway gas station, i have all three (speedway) (speedway.mp3) (speedway.bmp) i get the tone alerts but no mp3 alerts, thanks for any insite.

I have a question on how to open the poi file in the garmin unit itself. I read somewere here but can't find.

What is Savers Guide? I just noticed on my nuvi 660 in Travel Kit Menu right next to Travel Guide.

Ever since I got this unit Christmas, I've been trying everything I could think of to determine why my free traffic reception is so intermittent, whether driving or in my house (I use an adaptor so I can plug in the cigarette adaptor to a 120V outlet in the house).

They liked it in general. Say it is worth upgrading. Didn't like the underpowered FM transmitter or lack of ability to exclude roads.

I've had the Nuvi 760 with FM Traffic (GTM 20 Receiver) since early Nov '08 and though I have the "avoid traffic" avoidance enabled on the GPSr, I find myself having to push the yellow diamond icon on the screen to have the 760 actually reroute me around the delay ahead.

Is it possible to calibrate your Garmin?

Most GPS units these days have a longer than necessary power cord (that won't remain straight) consisting of butt ugly cheap black vinyl except for the good looking taunt power cord/FM traffic that comes with the Nuvi 265WT.
