MSN WEB UPDATE KILLS NUVI 760 !!! DO NOT UPDATE !
NNNOOOO !!
my 760 connected to the online webupdater this morning and i found an MSN update. i use FM TX only but i said - what the hell and updated. My nuvi restarted fine, i switched it off, got to my car and poof - blank screen on the next startup. no light or anything, no signal to the FM RX -- NOTHING. connected to the PC - nothing.

New Orleans Trip
We just returned from a brief trip to New Orleans. The Garmin got us there and back with no problems what so ever. It took us directly to the French Quarter and found the restaurant we wanted. Good for you Mr. Garmin

I have prepared an interesting article about the new ecoRoute feature that is available for 'some' nüvis -- RIGHT NOW.

Question about software.....
I have a garmin nuvi 205W, and I am looking for loadable software for my lap top to create POIs and put them on a san disc and use them on my unit.

Zip Code DB Searchable by Zip
If anyone is interested, I have compiled a ZIP Code POI DB (CSV) that is searchable by zip code.
I can upload it to POIFactory if any of you want it.
It is quite large (43190 zip codes, but because the state abbreviation is the first 2 letters of column 4 it would be easy to extract the state or states you want and be able to make the data suit you.

Acquiring Satellites / POI files
My Garmin 680 seems to take alot longer to acquire satellites since I have added POI files. Has anyone else had a similar problem or other slow operation problems?

Garmin Software 4.8 for Nuvi 2x5 released
Just updated my new-style 260w (which has many of the 2x5 features) and found that firmware Version 4.80 was available.
Supposedly included the new Garmin Ecoroute ... but, unfortunately, even though my Garmin updated to firmware 4.80 ... there was no Ecoroute feature.
Oh well.

What am I doing wrong?
I own a Nuvi 200. I downloaded the Starbucks files including logo and mp3. The grey dot shows up fine at each location, but not the logo or the voice announcing the location is coming up. I followed the directions on this site. I am wondering what I did wrong. Thanks

Audio Book Question, Folder?
Nuvi 660, downloaded a few books which were in 1-5 file segments. Can and should these be put into a special folder for each book title, or simply al intermingled together? tia

Changes from version 2.50 to version 3.00:
Added support for new MSN features - Weather Radar and Alerts, Send Routes to GPS, and Flight Delay Status.
Added support for ecoRoute features.
Corrected VIB support.
Updated to support new Audible book format.
Avoid Highway option now avoids limited access roads over long distances.

Detour button on Nuvi 205
I was on a trip this past weekend and notice when I was enroute and click the menu at bottom of map, at the bottom of the menu screen I had a stop and detour button. Was wondering what the detour is used for.
I'm assuming it's to be used if a road is closed but how does it work exactly. Because how would it know how far it needed to re-route you for the detour.

Long Term Ram Mounts
Hi Would someone please tell me how the Ram Mounts for a Nuvi 760 perform as I have had nothing but problems with the Garmin suction mount 
on the windscreen of my my car the darn thing falls off at will no matter how well I clean the windscreen and after a few nasty frights with clutch,brake etc...
