Garmin talk

Just wondering if there is a way to run the equivalent of a macro when using the manual option within POI-loader. Rather than enter hit the alert radio button and enter a desired distance for each of my many POI files, is there a way to set this up automatically? Thanks for any constructive suggestions!

Just returned a 780 and purchased the 765T largely due to the lane change feature. I set up my bluetooth connection (took some time) but nowhere to be found is an address book of all my contacts. The 780 had this so I'm a little confused as to why a new model would not have an older feature. Am I looking in the wrong place? All I see is dial #, dial home or dial a POI.

Weird that Garmin remind us that our map is obsolete (2010.1) on our unit at a time where the new one is still not available... they should have program at least a delay in order to make sure that the reminder comes when the release is available.

I am currently using a Garmin NUVI 265W. I have loaded several POI's, including the red-light camera's. The sounds associated with the red light camera's work great. But, not a peep out of the sound files for other POI's. I have tried both mp3 files and .wav files. I rename the sound file the same as the .csv file.

Im looking for some type of software that I can adjust the Volume of my sounds (MP3s) on the 885T. I had it before. Im not talking about the TTS Voice Editor I have that.

Today I powered up my GPS Nuvi 785T and got the Map 2010.10 Out of Date again. This is the same screen I got before my GPS bricked. Anyone else get this today. I have the latest firmware version 3.60. I rebooted the GPS and it still worked. I hope this issue isn't starting to happen again.

I'm having difficulty finding where to log a POI error (not a custom POI but the ones native on the Garmin). I have found a place on Garmin's site about logging map errors but that seems to be a list that's forwarded to Navteq. I'm not certain that Navteq is in charge of the POI's loaded on Garmins so I'm not convinced posting it there will do any good.

Does anyone know if i could use the Garmin Mileage
indicator on a Nuvi 885t? and where can i download it
from ..

Just an observation: I'm new to the Factory, but so far I've noticed a lot of people complaining about Garmin, price,service, & quality. However, they all have them, I'm sorry I don't understand, I'm on my second unit & I think they do a great job & the service that Garmin has given me is great....apparently I'm wrong...By the way, so is this site...Great

I want to use our family voices for the GPS announcements. I've done a cursory search on the web using obvious keywords, but I cannot find information specific on this particular pursuit.

I have a Garmin 255W and loaned it to my granddaughter recently to use on a trip from Peoria, IL to St Louis. She got along very well and found every destination programmed into the Garmin. Now she wants one.

I've been searching the web and forums for a couple days to find out what ALL the keywords words that the NUVI (I recently purchased a NUVI 255w) recognises and responds to in the .csv file naming convention. I've come up with several - TourGuide, redlight, speed. Are there more and is there a proper syntax to use these key words?

So I'm completely stumped and need your guy's help. I dont think I am doing this wrong but maybe I am. I have just loaded sites all over the US of bigfoot sightings and want to make it a TourGuide alert to alert me when I am within a 5 mile radius of the sighting location. So I save the files in my Bigfoot Sightings subfolder named as:

Bigfoot Auditory Reports TourGuide.csv

Does this work with POI Loader? Red light & speed camera files for an example.

I've looked through the FAQ's but I can't figure this out. Once I download POI files, how are they displayed on my Garmin? Do I find them by searching Points of Interest? Do they show up with an icon on my screen as I'm driving nearby? I've loaded a ton of files and it just feels like I'm pouring them down a black hole.

When downloading the redlight Camera list do I have to install the Beta version also. I am having trouble with my 885T with freezeing and it seems that its the redlight file doing this.

My 885T freezes up on me when im just viewing map while im driving and when i use the simulator on this one route i have in the same place everytime.

Can you subscribe to the MSN traffic with a gtm-20 ?
