Question on overlaping map data in c530

I am using the nuvi lifetime maps on my c530. With the 2009 maps, I was able to load most states on the c530, and the few remaining states + Alaska and Canada on a memory card. With the new version 2010.10, the options for loading from the .exe are East, or West, or Upper, etc. I can choose to load remaining states onto the external memory card through mapinstall. The question I have is this: If I load the East, it is difficult to see where the border is. Then choosing the other states from mapinstall, I am not sure if I am choosing some data that overlaps. What happens to that overlapping data? Do I see two sets of built in POIs? What about the streets, etc.

Answer from Garmin

Decided to wait the 40 minutes for Gamin's support. According to the rep, it doesn't matter if data overlaps, the unit will handle it with no problem.

Hi

I was surprised to see a question from user mkahn!! You have been so helpful since I have been a member of this forum with all kinds of good answers and suggestions - sometimes being very patient with users that were newbies to GPS.

I was also disappointed to see that no one from the forum was able to answer your question. I guess it is the kind of situation that no one had before.

Keep up the good work, mkahn

Jean

Thank you

We all experience new problems/questions (except maybe Motorcycle Mama)smile I just decided to update to the lifetime maps as I usually update once per year, especially due to changing streets in my area. I know I am taking a risk (i.e. life of the GPSr), however I have faith that my unit will still work for another 2-3 years.
