I don't understand Afrikaans

I recently muted the traffic voice because I knew how to get there and I got tired of listening to it. When I turned my 760 back on, it was speaking Afrikaans rather than American English. I went in the Garmin to see what was in the voice file and all languages were listed, including English. However, I don't think I was looking at the correct file because it was not a text to speech file. I deleted all the files above English and when I turned it back on, it started with Hrvatski instead of English.
Any clue? It doesn't read all of the language files.

TTS Voices

You need a TTS voice file for the 760 to speak street names. So for American English you can use American English Jack (TTS) or American English Jill (TTS). If those voices aren't on your Nuvi you need to use Webupdater (available from the Garmin website) to download and install them.

TTS Voices

I didn't do anything to take them off but I will try to see if I can download them again.
I called Garmin but they said it is a 30 minute wait.

A miracle

I downloaded the voices again and they show up now. I have no idea why they disappeared in the first place.
Thanks.

Firmware Updated?

Have you updated your firmware lately? I seem to recall that one of the firmware updates dealt with the voice file being switched to Afrikaan. The latest firmware is version 4.80 and came out on May 11th.
