Garmin talk

Before 210.2 you would not get the voice pronpt untill your Vehicle icon was on the arrow now it gives the prompt a few feet before the arrow. I am just wondering if this was done to give you more warning or was it a programing error

During my recent trip up the east coast, I finally got a chance to utilize my new GPS. One critical issue I had though, was a loss of the ability to find local gas stations via the POI route. Every time my wife or I selected find nearest gas stations, my GPS did a full re-boot, period.

Recently I had my Nuvi 680 plot me some horrible directions that told me to drive through 10 miles of city streets instead of taking the interstate because it believed this would be faster... which it definitely wasn't.

I have the settings on my unit, for map detail set to highest, but places of interest only seem to display in the higher zoom levels. In navigate mode these zoom levels are only entered when the approaching turn intersections.

Anyone know how to get them at the lower zoom levels, lets say from 2 - 10 miles?

I've noticed that my Garmin/kenwood, is not very accurate when I'm using it on Highways that have service roads. On a number of occasions I will take an exit ramp, but the unit will continue to show me on the highway, till I stop. In the navigate to mode, If I miss an entry it will show me taking the entry.

I updated the English Voices on my Nuvi 265W. The TTS Voice Editor returns "Run-Time error '9' subscript out of range" when I attempt to open a file. It worked on the old files. I am running version 2.74.

Updates have been added for all english language voices.

Hi everybody, I'm new to custom POI and would like to know if they can be installed on the SD card. If so would I put the POI.gpx file in the root of the SD card or mimic the Garmin folder structures on the SD card as in "Garmin\POI\...", etc.

Yesterday I tried to see if the Custom Waypoint symbols worked with a Nuvi. I set a favorite in Mapsource and made the symbol one of the custom symbols. I sent the favorites to the 765T. When I turned on the Nuvi it went into a boot loop. I had to do a master reset to get it to boot.

Does anyone know if there is any difference in the POI proximity alerts capabilities between the 260w and the 260wt?

I would like for the GPS to alert me with mp3 audio and visual alerts when i get a few miles from one my client's houses so i remember to visit them.

The Pilot and TA travel centers are not functioning properly. All of my other POI's that I set alerts for pop up, but not these 2 truck stops. I am sure i didn't do anything wrong. So what is the problem with these two POIs?

I have read the posts and it seems like (??) the firmware updates have resolved the 885T issues. Is this indeed correct? I hate to blow $400 if they are still a problem...

Purchased the new Nuvi 1350 through Stop & Shop Digital, good price $230.....bad news. They e-Mailed me back, 12 week wait....So buyers beware.

I just updated my C340 to the new 2010 Maps a few days ago, and I'm a little concerned. I've been playing around with it in my local travels (within about a 100 mile radius) over the last few days, and I'm getting errors that I never had with my 07,08, or 09 maps......such as it telling me that the approaching turn will be a Right turn, when it will actually be a Left!

I have a StreetPilot C330 and I've been away for a long time. I'm about to buy a 265wt Nuvi for my wife's b-day...got me back interested in the custom POI's. When I save the file, sometimes they're in a zipped folder...should I unzip the files before I run the POI loader? At one point, I had subfolders to choose from under "Custom POI's", but now they are all just mixed together.

I cant find a zoom scale on my Nuvi 885T? I have no idea how many feet I'm zoomed in or out!

What am I missing here?

hi there i bought my 1350 garmin gps cool stuff but got a problem about my speed limit indicator doesnt show and change lane indicator doesnt show too, im here in toronto,canada really appreciate your help thanks!
