Windows 7 final RTM version works with all of the Garmin Software

I received from Microsoft the Release to Manufacturing final completed version of Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit Edition and installed it 2 days ago.

After testing it extensively I have found that all the Garmin Software and the Garmin Communicator plug in work perfectly. This includes the Mapsource software and the map installation software.

I have found that Windows 7 is much quicker then either XP or Vista and the start up and shut down times are far faster also. Very pleased so far with running all other software and have found zero problems with any hardware drivers.

Great news!

Thanks for the info. I have placed my Windows 7 order already when they offered the prerelease discount.

Thanks for the info. Are you doing a clean install or an upgrade? If the latter, what UI are you updating?

I have two Win 7 orders pending with Amazon, too, so I'm glad to see that Garmin's stuff works with it. Thanks for the info.

It is useful information to have.

I did a clean install on a second hard drive

I did a clean install on a second hard drive so that I can decide at start up if I want to boot to Vista or Windows 7

I just gave the _iss poor vista the boot

I myself, found absolutely no reason for a dual boot. Also pre-ordered 7 here.

I have Vista and it takes forever to boot. Let us know how your install goes with Vista when you receive it.
Thanks
