Garmin talk

I just installed the Costco POIs from here but I can't find them on my garmin! I used POI loader to put them on my Garmin nuvi 855 which it correctly finds. I've verified that my local costco is there in the CSV file.

After much help from members and some deep searches, I finally found a very good site for the Brazilian Speed / Redlight Cameras. It's a Brazilian website but with a little patience and a basic knowlege of Brazilian Portuguese it can be easily downloaded using Garmins POI loader.

Im interested in hearing comments on the Bluetooth portion of the nuvi 660. I have a Nuvi 350 and I am considering updating to a 660 for the Bluetooth function.

I know its an older unit, but they are inexpensive and my 350 is perfect except for the fact that I would like the Bluetooth compatibility.

I have a 200w and have downloaded the file for all the rest areas in the us it seems from this site. its on my gps and can get to them through the menu. what i would like to know is how to get it where when im comming up to one while driving it shows on th egps map instead of having to go through menue and adding it as destination. I hope im explaining this right lol.

I am making a file for Illinois bike paths that are paved and limestone. Before I invest the time I want to make sure what I am doing is right. Would someone please check this file and let me know. Thanks

I changed the battery of my Nuvi 760. Process went very smooth, charged up the "new battery" and turned on the unit. It booted up "normally", but will not see satellites. Went into the satellite screen, and no activities at all; no bars, no blinking satellites. Any suggestions?

im sure you guys got the same email as i did from garmin and amazon (if u bought ur system there). when mine broke and i had to send it back i got a new one. but unfortunately, i lost my vehicle. so i hadnt turned on my system yet.

is there an expiration to that software update that will keep it from crashing??

So i'm still running Garmin's 2009 maps on my Nuvi 760.

I'm pondering buying the 2010 maps, but here's a question, one whose answer is not clear from Garmin's website.

Is the 2010 download map from garmin's website 2010.2 (the latest update apparently)?

is 2010.1 the initial release? or is it 2010.0?

I am having trouble getting a custom POI file into Mapsource. I have started with a csv file and converted it to gpx with two different utilities. Both times Mapsource tells me it it unable to import the file. I'm running 6.15.6. This seems like it should be easy. Any help? I'll insert a sample of the csv file and the top of the converted gpx file below.

I have a Garmin 850 and I'm trying to get some custom POI files loaded that I found on POI Factory. Example: The Wal-Mart/Sams Club POI file. It loads fine via the POI Loader from Garmin, but when I go to "where to/extras/custom POIs/Wal-Mart_US, it brings up the nearest locations in Idaho (but I'm in Atlanta).

I am sure you can it, but here is my crazy question. Stupid, probably.

Can you load more than 1 set of POI's onto your Garmin? I have a 760. I dowloaded the Red Light Camera POI, which I love. I then tried to download the Walmart/Sams stores POI from this sight. When I downloaded the Walmart/Sams stores, I lost my Red Light.

I am probably doing something wrong with POI Loader.

Hi. The nuvi775t comes with BOTH the North American AND European maps pre-installed.

If I opt for the free European map update but wait to do the download for another couple of weeks or until the "new" Europe maps come out (v2010.20) will I be able to download the latest version or the one availabel right now?

I have read some conflicting/confusing information on that.

All right...my Amazon box just arrived. Time to see if I can add some custom POI's to this gizmo, get MSN activated and try it out.

I spent a couple weeks studying this site (and Tips and Tricks) and cannot wait to see how this device actually works.

Copying the drive as a backup now and hopefully charging it up too as it was dead as a doornail out of the box.

Used it a lot this week on a trip to Houston. Had the Wal Mart and What-A-Burger POI files. Helped a lot. Also found a little Caesar's pizza I never would have found w/o it. And, with the traffic at 5pm, I found an alternate path to the baseball field.

Its still new to me to have a GPS, but it rocks!

Well I purchased the 2009 map update online and installed it(it didn't ask me for the product key).
However the gps shows "Can't Unlock map". So I went to the website and use the product key, but it says "invalid Product Key".
I called Garmin service and they told me the product key is correct and they don't know what happened.
So I started making my own experiment, trying to fix it.

I downloaded two custom POI's from the factory. Rest areas & campgrounds. Both are are the same file format both on in the same folder. When I install on the Garmin it says the total records for both files loaded, but when I go to custom POI's I only see a list of rest areas. No camprounds. What am I missing?

I have the icons and the files and I have converted the wave file to mp3 and installed them on the unit nuvi 765T the files are on the unit the icons to, but I still only hear the default Ding when the POI comes up how do I get the sound/voice to play what did I do wrong are didn't do please help.
