Factory POI data in 265WT

Hi all,

Where is the data for the stock POIs stored in the Nuvi, and is there an update? They have restaurants, etc. listed and I noticed that a pizza place they have in there has since changed names a couple of times since the one they list, and we're talking at least 3 or 4 years ago.

Is that data stored in the 006D135900 file? If not, where is it coming from, the basemap?

Thanks,

- Phil

It is a part of the map data. You will have to fill out form for change http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/errorForm.html .

.

Just to add to charlesd45's post, there is NO way to edit the built in POIs. You just have to wait for Navteq/Garmin to update the POI.

there is an Error near my home...

There is an Error Near my home... GPSr tells me to take left on the road, but the road has no left at all. I had sent Garmin/Navteq an Email 2-years back thru the Error Report Form... It still is not corrected in the latest update!!!

I have sent in many

I have sent in many changes. Some went a year before being changed.A couple stores that have closed that I reported are going on two years now without a change.Big believer in follow up by sending changes back in again.

One example I had in FL was I could make a right turn and drive stright to the residence I was going to.The 2009 maps had me to pass the road I turned right on and go up 1 mile and make right turn then across and double back. The road had been there for years but not on the map.It took 1 yr to get that change.

Thanks to all for the info... I thought that might have been the case but wasn't sure.
