Mp3 alert help.

I know this has been beat to death, but I created a csv with my home coordinates and description of MiCasa.

(Also posted in Creating POI files section.)

Have an mp3 named MiCasa.mp3
CSV is named MiCasa.csv

Put both into folder and run poiloader manually onto the 755T. Alert distance set to 1000 ft. I drive by my house and the alert shows up with a black box. Great! No MP3 sound whatsoever. Ive tried to change proximity sounds from single to continous but it doesnt matter. No sound. All volumes up 100%. No duplicate mp3.mp3 thing either. Any ideas? MiCasa does show up in Where To/Extras/Custom POIs/MiCasa. Settings/Proximity Points/Change/Custom POIs box is checked. Mp3 plays fine in media player etc.

Thanks!
Aaron

I would go back and check

I would go back and check for the double extensions again or not being named the same except for the extensions. The best way to prevent double extensions is to go to your folder options in the control panel and click view then find hide extensions for known file types and remove the check mark. Click ok.

>My poi's =main folder
>>MiCasa.csv
>>MiCasa.mp3
>>MiCasa.bmp

thanks charlie

Thanks for the input. Already did that, I keep those unchecked as a standard operating procedure for I like to see the extensions.

I am trying something else, I think the mp3 might not be up to snuff. I cant play it on my mp3 player when its on the sd card, I will have to do some more checking.

mp3 test

Try any old mp3 that works on the SD card, even your favorite song. That will give you assurance that your building this POI with a csv and mp3 works. Mine are all gpx POIs and I've not had audio problems.

Since he is evidently not getting the default audio alert either, I suspect it is something like this.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

MP3 Size

Is there a maximum size for Proximity Alert MP3?

Jihad THIS!! Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

did it or didn't it work?

I'm wondering if jamalone got the problem solved....

Change the mp3 sound.

I had a similar problem and I ended up changing the mp3 sound for a new one and it worked. Not sure if that was the problem but it works now.
