Garmin Mobile XT & Nokia N900

Just had a quick question...I pre-ordered my Nokia N900 from amazon for $582.99, and since it is a Linux based OS, the GMXT will not work on it since GMXT only supports WM/Symbian OS. So my question was, how can I contact garmin, and plead to them to support GMXT with MAEMO OS?

thanks for the advise,

Priyank

You can always try email

And along with your email request you could probably offer to fund the software development costs to increase your chances of getting a new version. I suspect that there won't be any action on your request unless the install base of phones with that particular OS becomes large enough to get a return on Garmin's investment.

well i just wanted to ask

well i just wanted to ask them if they already have a project in progress or if they are planning on supporting a maemo based OS for the GMXT, that's all. I think your comment of me offering to fund the software development costs was totally uncalled for.

I think an email to Garmin Product Support is the way to go. I have emailed Garmin in the past and you will get a reply. I have Garmin Mobile XT now and I think it is a great product. I am hoping that they offer a new version soon with the latest maps.
