Being new to this.....I saw a card available on Amazon.com that was good for unlimited updates. The card had an $80 price tag.
Will the Garmin 755T I received for Christmas be supported long enough for this to pay for itself? I think it said that it allowed up to 4 downloads per year.

Garmin hasn't dropped support for any of their older units - unless you count support as software upgrades and fixes. A discontinued product means it is no longer in production.
